So tonight i am sitting in Oklahoma City with the sad realization that this time tomorrow I will be on a bus, heading northeast towards home *pouts* Today we went to the Billy the Kid museum in Fort Sumner, New Mexico and then to where he is supposedly buried. It was really cool to see some of his things and talk to people that had family in the area during his reign. When we got to the graveyard, it was a different story. The woman who runs the giftshop was apparently a descendent of Pat Garrett (the man creditied with shooting the Kid). At the museum, the woman that worked there mentioned that they were trying to get the body exhumed so that they can test Billy's DNA against DNA of his mother. The only problem with that is that there is no body where the Kid's marked grave is...the cemetary flooded in the early 1900's and most of the bodies ended up in other places...When i made that comment at the cemetary, the woman there got very pissy and said that the only that was supposed to be happening right now was that the governor of New Mexico was trying to get the Kid pardoned and that "her' family was angry that the government was trying to take away that notirity of Garrett shooting the Kid. Personally, i don't think that Garrett killed the Kid. There were to many inconsistencies for the Garrett to make sense. Today is September 28 and here is today's joke:
A woman went into a bar in Texas and saw a cowboy with his feet propped up on a table. He had the biggest feet she’d ever seen.
The woman asked the cowboy if it’s true what they say about men with big feet.
The cowboy grinned and said, “Sure is, little lady! Why don’t you come on out to the bunk house and let me prove it to you!”
The woman wanted to find out for herself, so she spent the night with him.
The next morning she handed him a $100 bill. Blushing, he said, “Well, thank ya Ma’am. I’m real flattered. Aitn’t nobody ever paid me fer mah services before.
The woman replied, “Don’t be flattered. Take the money and buy yourself some boots that fit.”
see you tomorrow!
