dragonsinger, you're right! Duncan didn't kill Richie Ryan in Highlander! He's alive and working for the NY ASPCA!
OK, that Richie Ryan isn't, but another one is. Mom's watching Animal Precinct right now, when I heard THAT name. If I didn't have a migraine, my head would have snapped around. I had to ask her if I heard it correctly, and I did. That Richie Ryan's info is
here. It still made me think of you,
dragonsinger. (g)
Side bit about another Discovery network show - I can't WAIT for April, when Deadliest Catch returns. It's one of the most gripping shows on tv. If you're not watching it, Discovery will start reruns again soon, shortly before the new season starts - watch them. For those who don't know what it is, it's a reality/documentary show about Alaskan crab fishing, literally the deadliest job on the planet. Thankfully, none of the lead ships have lost anyone yet, but there's been a number of other ships and lives that have been lost during the king and opilio crab seasons shown during the show's run. Actually, my favorite moment is one of the times one wasn't lost, when Time Bandit managed to save a guy who went over from another ship, because they just happened to be nearby and saw the guy. The rush of emotion from everyone, especially Johnathan Hillstrand (yes, that's the right spelling - I checked), who was captaining at the time (he and his brother Andy switch, depending on the crab season), was stirring. In Johnathan's case, it was redemption - years earlier, they weren't able to save a man in a similar case, and he was so overjoyed that they did this time. Plus, Time Bandit's luck changed afterwards - they were so on the crab afterward. (g) I don't eat crab (that whole growing up Jewish thing, you know), but you develop such respect for these brave (and crazy!) people who risk themselves for the food people crave. The money helps, of course, but is it really worth the risk? That's up to the individual.
