(no subject)
I went out to my car to look for my cell phone. (in the rain). and I didnt bring my key card, so I locked myself out of my place. There is a public phone, which I never used to any effectiveness before. The instructions on the phone say... Dial 2-xxxx, 4-xxxx or 6-xxxx for on-campus calls. The number for the CA on call says to dial... a 290 number. I was frustrated for awhile. I called the Operator, asked, and she pointed out that I could dial 8-xxx-xxxx for local numbers. Wow. Sometimes I wish I would read more.

...which makes me wonder, if I have organized conversations in my brain, as possible things to say for a given circumstance. This may be a clue to me not wanting to have general conversation with random people, or casually. Its like I have a list of possible opening statements, a list for starting, a place for the filler, a list for mediation and transitions, then a closing list, followed by a double close/end transmission list. Then I pick from that list as I construct my sentences. (thats what I call them anyway).
So what happens is, I dialed the wrong number and got a sleepy Kyla. or something. heh.

*me* " yea, I locked myself out of my apartment at frederiksen ct.
*ky* "well how did you do that?"
*me* "uh... I walked out the door without my keycard"
*ky* *Silence*
*me* "so this is *** 56** right?
*ky* "yea"
*me* "uh this is the CA on call right?... for frederiksen ct?"
*ky* "no, this is Kyla"
*me* "oh... right. Ok. do you know anything about this? Frederiksen Ct."
*ky* "no, I dont even know what that is"
*me* "So what number is this again?"
*ky* "*** 58**."
*me* *playing dumb* "Huh... I must have copied that number down wrong."
*me* "I am terribly sorry about this"
*ky* "its ok"
*silence*
*me* "so... "

This conversation actually took like 4 min. i was so confused.
In other news... I mounted the public phone in our apartment. It looks like this. (and another photo, cuz you all like long ass posts with pictures. )

A University public phone... in my kitchen. I didnt steal it, "find" it or "borrow" it, but I will leave it up to your imagination of how I aquired it. I will say it took a little toying to make it work right.
