Simple. I hope it makes sense.
If it's general, then well, the animals shouldn't talk. Maybe thoughts, but no talking. If there was talking, then it would be fantasy, ne? And well, I suppose fantasy speaks for its self. Either way, the main perspective should be that of an animal of your choice.
