“Gentlemen, I am in a spectacularly good mood and even you shall not succeed in spoiling it. Now get yourselves and your preposterous get-ups back to the dormitory before my mood fades,” Minerva said with a slightly menacing smile, “Oh, and Mr. Black you will want to wash that before class tomorrow.”

That was also rather satisfying, she thought and she continued on to her office with the image of Potter and Black looking up at her with caught-in-the-act expressions on their faces floating pleasantly in her mind.

She hummed lightly as she carefully poured her tea, delighting that not one leaf slid into her cup. Minerva pushed aside the tartan tin on her desk and reached into the drawer to pull out a box of Honeyduke’s Dark, her secret, guilty pleasure. Continuing to hum, she crossed her office and pulled the amber bottle from the cupboard.

Her hum broke into full song as she tipped in the whiskey and muttering, “Why not,” stirred a liberal spoonful of honey into her cup.

Minerva’s small, satisfied smile turned to a grin as she remembered the caught-in-the-act expression on the faces of the Minister and his horrible lackeys, Umbridge and Jorkins, as she and Dumbledore turned to leave the Minister’s office.

She sipped deeply from her sweet and stimulating cup and said out loud to the framed photograph on her desk, “That was exceedingly well done, even if I do say so myself.”
