Finished Twilight. Am relieved. What a hell of a relationship, and I mean it quite literally. Never was a person more ready to join a sectarian cult than Bella. Since everyone I know agrees, I will cut further ranting and foaming at the mouth. Save that: I love how the good vampires are beautiful beyound measure and bad, bad James so very avarage-looking, nothing remarkable about his face or body at all. Uh - wasn't looking like an eternal prom queen part of the general vampire super power kit? As a friend of mine says about recognising the villains in the movies: "Bad guys have bad teeth." (Valid for all, not just Orks.)
But not to be petty: One piece of writerly genius is the invention of the vampiric fuel indicator.
His dark eyes assessed me with interest. The irises were nearly black, just the hint of ruby around the edges. Thirsty.
This is genius. I bet it comes with a pointing arrow and little markings: full - half - stop at the next diner/zoo immediately!
Now I'm just pondering that when drinking blood makes the vampire's irises blood red, what godly nectar Edward is drinking off the mountain lions so that his irises get that yellowy-golden hue. And if it wouldn't be easier just to skip the hunting trips, catch one as a pet and wait for it at the litter box...
Okay, okay, enough of this, off to some serious entertainment, off to Dark Knight
