I really need to get better about writing here again. I was doing so well before...
Anyway, Friday (the 3rd) I sent out a bunch of query letters. 5 I beleive, and the night before I sent off 2 e-mail queries. Now, we'll wait a few weeks and see if there are any bites. ::crosses fingers::
I find that AgentQuery.com is a good place to get names, though I always then go and check the actual website before I send anything out. Most of the time something for at least one or two of the agents is different that what they said on AgentQuery.com. One agent had had a change of address...good thing I checked. ::smart cookie::
Lessee... I'm looking into grad schools. Right now Seton Hill looks like a winner. The majority of the faculty are genre writers, which is a big plus compared to Lesley (where I was first looking) where it turns out no one knows much about fantasy at all.
Seton Hill is a low residency program, meaning that I would only have to go out to the school for one week at the beginning of the semester and then once again at the end. Very cool, since that means that I can keep working at the dance studio (which no one will ever get me to give up). Also very cool because Seton Hill is about 7 and heif hours away. Looooong drive. What else is nice is that you write portions of a novel over the 2 years (one portion for each semester) and then by the end the finished roject is you Master's Thesis. How sweet is that? No big research paper or anything like that. Just a book, that I will be writing anyway, and at the end of it all I get a degree.
Whoo! Sign me up. ^_^
Applying will most likely be this weeks project. (Last week was the query letters). AW is also still out in NY at Tor, waiting for whatever to come. ::sits and waits patiently::
Hm.....I guess that's really it for now. I'm working on going through book two and editing, adding little scenes, stuff like that, but that's kinda slow going. I need to sit down and get my act together. It was so nice Thursday morning when I woke up early, sat down and magically produced 7 query packages. Why does it feel so good to be productive....yet I continue to have trouble getting out of bed??
One of Life's Great Mysteries. How a bed can become so perfectly comfortable in the early hours of the morning.
Okay, off to try to be productive again, despite the cold that has had it's hands around my throat for over a week and heif now...
Ja ne! ^_^
