Quidditch season is almost upon us, and that makes me smile. I've been listening to the Wigtown Wanderers' pre-season over the radio. It won't be too long now. Quidditch at Hogwarts won't be too far behind as well. I shall have to remember to give Dora some of the rules and regulations for a Head of House during the season. Part of me is almost sad to give it up. But I will still at least be up in the box to regulate. And as always, Luna Lovegood will be there. It'll be interesting as to what she has in store for this year.
From what I've been hearing, a lot of people have found my appointments for Head Boy and Head Girl nothing short of madness. Prefects are another story, but for the heads, I've made my choice and I am sticking by them. Those two have earned their honors without a doubt, and I have never been prouder than for what they've done in the past few years. Neville Longbottom especially. He's answered his call of duty more often than most, not to mention improvement has come in his grades and confidence. I think this is the chance he's needed to prove himself. Hermione Granger has been destined for the position from the beginning. I don't believe I need to explain it beyond that.
Another thing is a number of Slytherin's are upset because they were not considered for the positions. This is far from the truth, however. I had been toying with the idea of naming Blaise Zabini as a prefect for a while, but with the events of last June, I've had to drop them. With the death of Albus Dumbledore inadvertantly caused by one Draco Malfoy, I've had to consider the crowd that he hung around with. This is why I could not consider Pansy Parkinson, Vincent Crabbe, or Gregory Goyle, Mr. Malfoy's closet friends. And of course, with more and more Death Eaters coming out into the public, parents of students openly coming out to support Lord Whats-his-name, I, as other school officials, have had to be cautious.
Hopefully this does not effect behavior among the older students this year. I WILL put a stop to it if needed.
Bloody hell. A reserve seeker is being put into the game. The first line just got knocked out by a bludger to the temple.
