(no subject)
i desecrated a grave today while planting the rhubarb. i know there are dead things everywhere, but it's kind of disturbing to randomly come across a bunch of bones in the exact spot you decided to dig. i think it was a cat, based on the jaw bone and the size of leg bones. i felt bad.
we've been doing a lot of work in the garden lately, planting stuff. we have 2 raised beds, one planted with cold-weather veggies, one waiting to be planted with summer veggies. we also have new apple & cherry trees, blueberry bushes, lots of strawberry plants, asparagus, and grapes. kiwi, & artichoke are awaiting planting.
we had our housewarming party, it went quite well, frinds from portland came down, and several of our local friends stopped by for a bit. the home brewed wit was a smashing hit, with orange wedges instead of lemon, and people liked my secret recipe cake.
other than that, not much news. had an MRI on my knee yesterday (might have torn cartilage), do you know HOW HARD it is to not move when someone says "ok, now i need you to hold still for the next 45 minutes, ok?" the urge to twitch is overwhelming.
also, interview for a tidepool naturalist job on monday. i have to drive 4 hours to get there, yet the job is local- stupid state jobs. i have to give an interpretive talk on something realated to ocean ecology. i picked pinnipeds, which are seals/sea lions/walruses. it's HARD to get the stupid thing under 5 minutes, there's too much to say!
