Chapter 11 Part II - Subdued

YunHo pulled JaeJoong out of the jewellery store with a scowl. “You’re not happy. Why?”

JaeJoong smiled but his smile was too forced and troubled that YunHo found himself glaring at the boy. He’d followed JaeJoong’s every whims for today - doing things he never did even as a child - and he expected the boy to be happy. He even tolerated JaeJoong puking on his suit - thus the reason he’s now wearing a newly bought T-Shirt JaeJoong personally chose that was of the same design with the one JaeJoong himself was wearing right now - after the Hell Ride JaeJoong himself insisted they tried. As long as JaeJoong’s happy, YunHo won’t get angry. As long as JaeJoong's happy. That was all he asked for after risking so much for today’s date - though he was beginning to think that perhaps he was getting worried about Ji Ho for nothing.

YunHo sighed and softened his voice, “… JaeJoong, I hate liars. So you better tell me what’s bothering you. Now.” His command was still as clear as anything.

“...”

“You don’t like the necklace?”

JaeJoong instinctively clutched on the piece of necklace around his neck, his fingers curling around the silver pendant of a rotatable star in a circle with small diamonds on its surface. His new birthday present. “No, of course not. It’s beautiful...”

YunHo’s eyes softened at JaeJoong’s breathless answer. “You hate it here? You want to go home?”

JaeJoong slowly shook his head.

“… Today was a disaster?”

“No!”

“Then what JaeJoong? Tell me! I can’t take it if you’re acting like this!” It was true, the man wanted to crush someone for every second JaeJoong continued to look like that. To have that dullness in the boy’s eyes was really a good enough reason for the man to even burn random children alive.

“…”

“JaeJoong.”

At the sudden composure in YunHo’s voice, JaeJoong immediately looked down and mumbled dejectedly, “I- Will people look down on you because you love me, Master?”

That took YunHo by surprise. Did he missed something? Come to think of it, JaeJoong started acting weird after they bought the shirt for him. But why? “What makes you think so?”

“… One of the salesgirls was eying us weirdly… And the cashier guy at the Lacoste store too. They smiled in front of us - you - but I caught them looking at us - me - like they’re disgusted. Is it because we’re both men or- Or is it because I’m a nobody…? They don’t think I deserve you,” JaeJoong cringed.

The boy knew there’s no way they know where he’d come from but still, he can’t help feeling dirty and worthless. Their leering stares make him realised things. Things he’d rather not realized… He never thought of how wrong he was for YunHo because nobody ever insinuated the fact to him. It’s not like many knew about us anyway… But YunHo’s men never looked at him liked that. YooChun always said how YunHo needs him. HyoRi always teased him about YunHo with warm smiles. But they worked for Master, why would they say anything that'll hurt me or angered him? But JaeJoong shouldn't have forgotten. Not only that we’re both men but YunHo’s so rich, powerful, handsome. Me? I have nothing. Of course they looked at me like that…

YunHo cracked his fists. Oh how he would fire them useless rubbish and make sure they stayed jobless until the day they died. Better yet, break every single bone in their body with his bare hands. But their fate would have to wait. “JaeJoong,” YunHo called, cupping the boy’s face with his hands, “I don’t care what people said. And you shouldn’t too. You only have to care about me - love me. You just have to live for me - shine for me. Understood?”

“But-“

YunHo kissed the protest away. “If you cared about others, I’ll kill them all so that you don’t have to anymore okay.”

JaeJoong gasped in shock. To have people killed just like that because of him?!

“I take that as a no?” YunHo asked, sounding disturbingly disappointed. “You don’t want that? Okay, okay. Just stop thinking about unnecessary things then. I don’t like it when you’re sad.”

JaeJoong blinked a couple of times then dumbly nodded.

“Good. I love you. Now smile.”

When JaeJoong finally does, YunHo turned to his men with a serious face. “That’s it, we’re going to the lake now. Prepare the car. Tell DongHae and Dong Wook, SeungHyun’s with them. I’ll drive JaeJoong to the lake myself.”

As YunHo drove away with JaeJoong, the other five cars did so too. The last one didn’t as SeungHyun stopped DongHae before he could do the same. “I need to go to the men’s room. Go. I’ll catch a taxi home.” Without waiting for DongHae’s reply, the man rushed towards his destination. DongHae wrinkled his forehead in confusion at Dong Wook but both thought nothing more of it.

“Let’s go, he can take care of himself,” said Dong Wook and DongHae nodded.

SeungHyun pushed open the door to the men’s room and called someone desperately after making sure nobody else was inside any of the cubicles. As soon as the call was answered, he blurted out the reason for his frustration. ‘YunHo wanted to drive home! I didn’t get the chance to blow up that damn bomb!’

A short silence before an amused chortle. “I know. Well, that’s what you get for stalling! What are you trying to do? Waiting for the right time to kill him?” Strange, SeungHyun thought, he’s not upset? It just felt like the man was reprimanding him, mockingly.

‘How the hell am I supposed to know he’d spend the whole day at the mall and wanted to drive home?!’ The truth was, SeungHyun didn’t detonate the bomb in the morning because he felt like he owed it to the man - to let YunHo be happy for the last time with JaeJoong. Given a valid reason, YunHo might be the most cruel and heartless man ever existed but he was a good enough employer and leader most of the times. SeungHyun wouldn’t betray the man ever if it wasn’t for his sister’s life.

‘SeungHyun my man, don’t worry! Relax! I’m always well prepared for anything. For your information, the bomb is already set off to explode. Let me see... Ah, that’s right. The man still has about a fifteen, fourteen minutes more?’ SeungHyun was left speechless at the revelation. ‘Why are you so surprised? Of course I have my backup…!’ He laughed again, ‘You know, just in case you had a change of mind... I can’t risk that now, can I?’

His grip on the sleek device tightened. ‘You-‘ His sentence was cut without any remorse.

‘Well. Now that’s taken care of, the deal is still the same. I’ll return your sister to her foster parents after you died. Oh. Make sure you take full responsibility for YunHo’s death and wipe out all traces of me will you?” Another string of that demeaning laughter. “So long... Nice doing ‘business’ with you. ’

SeungHyun threw the phone on the floor and punched the walls with angry force. If he was having second thoughts before, he’s now sure of it. Ji Ho’s definitely not someone to be trusted. He’s nothing like YunHo - a man of his words. SeungHyun doesn’t mind going to jail - even dying - if he could save Lee Jin. But now he knows, even if he followed the man’s instruction, it still won’t ensure his only sister’s safety. She won’t stand a chance with a man like Ji Ho. What if suddenly he decided she had to be disposed of as well?

Eyes widening with a sudden idea - hoping it wasn’t too late - SeungHyun ran out of the men’s room leaving his smashed handphone on the floor.

“Give me your handphone!” He grabbed the stranger he bumped outside the men’s room by the collar, looking at the startled old man with menacing eyes. “It’s an emergency!”

Trembling, the old man hand him his old-fashioned phone and stumbled away from the frantic man. The phone was expensive but it definitely doesn’t worth his life.

SeungHyun immediately recalled YunHo’s number and dialled them in haste.

YunHo wanted to kill someone. He wanted to skin him alive, break every bone in that man’s body, cut every single limb, pluck out his eyeballs, personally removed every single tooth, burn and cut the tongue then smashed the man’s gums. For the finishing touch, he wanted to shoot him with every freaking gun he owned. Oh how strongly YunHo itched to kill someone this instant, preferably someone named Jung Ji Ho.

Cracking his neck and tightening his hold on JaeJoong’s strangely cold hand - perhaps the boy somehow know their predicament from YunHo’s reaction - the man gritted his teeth. His brain already scheming for a desperate plan. ‘Whatever happened, don’t you dare run away or kill yourself. Or believe me when I said I’ll have people hunting every single person who had even the slightest relationship with you.’ A defeated yet apologetic gulping was heard at the threat. ‘I might still have a purpose for you, make sure you’re breathing for that, traitor.’ YunHo hissed angrily and released JaeJoong’s hand to end the call and dialled a familiar number. Earpiece still securely in place, the man’s left hand travelled back to squeeze JaeJoong’s hand with his and continued driving only using one hand.

The line beeped twice before it was answered. ‘YooChun, where are you?’

‘Close. What’s wrong? I didn’t see anything suspicious from here.’ The man’s voice was rushed, probably already sensing that something’s wrong from YunHo’s distinctly serious tone.

As instructed, he’d been following the two all day in secrecy, sensing absolutely nothing out of the ordinary.

YunHo can’t help it - the man groaned. His life was always at risk but this was too much. A bomb? Does Ji Ho want to alert all the authority in Korea and get them on guard all the time?! He knows Ji Ho’s smartly stupid - stupid people do brave and odd things all the times - but he didn’t think the man would be this stupid.

And it’s bad because there’s JaeJoong with him inside the car, beside him right now. ‘There’s a bomb under the car. It’ll blow up in about ten minutes max.’

JaeJoong’s head spun towards him with wide fearful eyes. For now, YunHo had to make do with tightening his grip on JaeJoong’s hand to calm the boy down.

‘What?! How’s that possible?!’ YunHo could almost hear the man speeding now and he’s positively sure the man’s doing everything he could to get to them on time. That’s a relief. He glanced at JaeJoong who’d been extremely quiet - only looking at him with scared eyes.

‘SeungHyun. Rei found his sister and he’s holding her hostage. He’s supposed to detonate the bomb anytime today, with him inside, before we get home. All blame on him.’ YunHo growled. ‘It’s a good thing I’d decided to drive JaeJoong home myself.’ Shit,I shouldn’t be wasting time right now. With that thought in mind, he talked speedily. ‘Listen. Ji Ho has someone else working for him that’s watching everything so I can’t just stop the car for no reason. Whoever it was would most probably finish the job himself and get SeungHyun. That won’t do, I need him especially now that Ji Ho’s giving me this opportunity to get rid of him.’ The more YunHo talked, the more he’s convinced of his rashly devised plan. ‘I need him to think he’s still in control. So we have to stage something as a decoy. Ji Ho’s not supposed to know that I know, that SeungHyun betrayed him. The car will explode on time. Only we won’t, rightfully, be inside.’

‘... What do you have in plan?’

‘It's time to make full use of your guns. When you’re near-’ A deliberate pause as YunHo squeezed JaeJoong’s hand. ‘- I want you to attack us. Shoot the car.’

‘What?!’ It was both JaeJoong and YooChun’s disbelief voice that assaulted his hearing.

Ignoring JaeJoong’s pointed disagreement, YunHo continued with haste. ‘There’s a high possibility it’s one of my men that’s working for Rei. If someone’s attacking me, it’s their first priority to protect and be my first defence. Anyone who’s not will be too dubious. My other men would immediately take care of him. So keep on shooting the window without revealing your position. It’s bullet proof anyway. In that chaos, I’ll make it look like I’ve lost control of the car. JaeJoong’ll jump out of the car. Make sure you get to him.’ YunHo stressed, JaeJoong’s protest killed with a firm glare. ‘I don’t trust him with anyone else.’

‘... You?’

YunHo disregard the question and continued stealthily. ‘We’ll let Ji Ho think his plan was spoiled by a coincidental ‘kidnapping’ of JaeJoong. I want you to take JaeJoong somewhere safe. Hide him. Then contact HyoRi, explain everything and let her ambush Ji Ho. Tell her to kill everyone and get SeungHyun’s sister. That’ll make sure everyone know we’re not setting the man up. And I still need SeungHyun to ‘give’ to the police for this bomb incident.’ A pause as YunHo glanced through the rear window, ‘Are you near?’

‘Yes.’

‘Start shooting.’

YunHo ended the call and a shrill of bullet rains out of nowhere caused JaeJoong to panic. Noticing the six black cars following him was swerving in their path to block him from the sudden shooting, YunHo sped away. For the first time ever, he wasn't interested in joining in the fun - despite the few other road users ended up bumping each other in the commotion noisily, messily - because all he could thought about at the time was JaeJoong. There was simply no amusement in this challenge, only worry. For JaeJoong.

It was getting too dangerous.

“JaeJoong, jump out now!” YunHo ordered as the road was ideally getting less crowded now. How many minutes, seconds do we have left?

JaeJoong looked at him in horror - finally realizing that everything was indeed real and YunHo intended for him to leave first. “NONONONO! I’m not leaving you Master! Let’s jump out together! PleasePleasePlease!” JaeJoong cried desperately, gripping the man’s left shoulder tightly. YunHo didn’t budge and purposefully swung over the car as if he’d lost control of it.

JaeJoong almost bumped his head on the window. Not that he cared if he did.

“No, it’s too dangerous! Ji Ho cannot know. Jump now. Jump now, please JaeJoong! JaeJoong, if you love me then jump out! Now!” The man was shouting by then, hands on the wheel turning white as he focused on driving the slightly screeching car. If he jumped out at the same time as JaeJoong, Ji Ho’s man would know they purposefully abandon the car. But if they thought JaeJoong was thrown out of the car accidentally then followed by YunHo, hopefully Ji Ho won’t realize his impending doom. And if Ji Ho’s man was determined to finish off the job, at least JaeJoong had to be safe. JaeJoong was just the collateral damage. YunHo's the one Ji Ho wanted dead. At least if they're separated, Ji Ho would go after him first. In the meantime, YooChun would make sure JaeJoong's safe. He have to. “Jump JaeJoong!”

JaeJoong wanted to cry. “... Then promise me you’ll be safe!” JaeJoong screamed back, tears already pooling in his eyes. “Promise me! Promise me you won’t leave me! You can’t leave me Master!”

“I promise.” YunHo craned his head to offer the boy a tight fleeting smile. “Now jump! We don’t have much time!”

“You promise.” JaeJoong reminded before he opened the door and braved himself to jump despite the angry wind slapping his face at how fast they were moving. “I love you Master.”

“Now!”

At YunHo’s command, JaeJoong jumped.

The boy fell ungraciously on the callous ground, rolling a few times in reflex before he could finally stop himself. Without thinking, the boy immediately got up to chase his Master’s car - hoping YunHo would jump out soon and hold him and tell him everything will be alright. A few surprised bystanders - shocked at the whole scenario - were trying to ask if he was alright but he paid no attention to them. Even when a car pulled next to him with a screeching halt - his YooChun hyung screaming for him to get inside - the boy continued to chase over the speeding car like someone who’d lost his mind.

In a way, JaeJoong did lose his mind - his reason. YunHo. His lover - his everything. Master.

Cursing as YooChun saw YunHo’s men closing in at the distance, the man immediately got out, caught hold of the boy and pressed his fingers to the side of JaeJoong’s neck firmly before JaeJooong could present him with any real struggle. Overlooking the people gasping in shock at his action, he then placed the unconscious boy into his car and drove away towards another direction as soon as he saw a figure jumped out of YunHo’s car.

YooChun’s relief was short-lived though as a full-sized and destructive explosion took place just a few moments after, demolishing the nearby shops across the road with such power that even his car - as far as they were by then - shook. YunHo was too close with the source, he thought as he watched the blown up car - or to be more precise, the remains of it - plummeted back on the street. Fuck.

AN: So, anyone noticed the discrepancy of the story? Yeah. I’m sorry. I edit everything, really! But this is what happened when you try to write back a story you left for months and no longer driven to write, I guess. But I actually liked this.
And I really try to write more of their date but I can’t. I’m not in any mood for fluff, seriously. I just want to put more of those violence(?) and drama, or at least I think I did.
FRIENDS, this is only available to you guys right now so if this was too horrible and irrelevant, tell me and I’m continuing my hiatus. Or retired, if it’s really that bad. I’ll just read fics. [bows in shame] If I got at least half of my friends who says okay, I'll continue it just for those people and I'll unlock this fic for other readers as well. Thank you.

EDITED ON 1/2/2012: Affirmative. I'd already unlocked this chapter and I'm continuing HIS when I can. Okayh? YunJae is forever relevant and endless. I don't care anymore! Go away if anyone hate this fic. I don't wanna know you. LOL. No. Seriously, I mean it. [stares]
By the way, the poll for my next fic is still open until the end of HIS. Go here,  http://mimpikita.livejournal.com/4140.html if interested to have a say in it. [cracks fist] Yesh, I'm gonna finish HIS!
