A few afterthoughts
So, I just finished the SPN season finale and I ....really liked it? Looking at a few reactions on my flist it seems that it was received with mixed feelings. Why is that you are often more able to enjoy things you aren't that much emotionally invested in? The more you care the more critical you seem to get. Or perhaps that's just me

Okay, after reading a longer synopsis of that movie he is shooting right now, I might have to take my statement back. I'm not sure I'm ready to see him like this. D: (If you are interested, it's here)
As much as films give bad body image, the actors actually living in that environment have it so much worse. :(
Yeah, although I feel like actresses have it even worse than men. And these excessive weight alterations like Christian Bale, Tom Hanks or even Rene Zellweger did or had to do for their films should be forbidden. Hah, that reminds me, even Hayden had to work really, really hard to gain all that weight and muscle for ROTS.
I don't think I really want to obsess about anything else right now?
Yeah, me neither. And this might be totally childish and irrational but I'm already biased against The Cape because it's such an obvious replacement for Heroes on NBC. Same goes for No Ordinary Family even though it's on another network. (Not that all shows with super powered people are a Heroes knock off, I'm sure the X-Men fans will agree, but it's obviously an attempt to repeat the formula with slight alterations) I'm not sure I could restrain from comparing them even if I tried and that would only make me bitter.

Argh, yeah. Do we know his character name? I think it all depends exactly on how things go down, but I was sort of figuring on classic horror-style Last Girl situation. No one will likely survive that movie but the female protagonist and the kid. Not sure I want to watch a movie climaxing on a rape attempt, though.

That was actually my exact initially reaction. No Ordinary Family still gets it from me, because it's exactly mimicking the family drama aspects of Heroes... but badly, from what I can tell. It's going for generic every family, instead of the particulars unique to this family. The Cape I was hesistant about, but the thing is, while it's filling the super-hero niche at NBC, I think the plots and the construction of the universe are very, very different. In some ways this actually feels like a fix-it for the Superman Returns movies, where the writer didn't feel it did justice to the responsibility of fatherhood. On the whole, I think it's much more traditional comics -- about fighting bad guys as a vigilante -- with the relationships as an interesting aspect, but not a focus.
