May 14, 2008 23:57

Originally I wanted post pictures of the lovely spring weather over here and tell you about my roasted limbs but then I saw the new S3 Heroes promo. And I got excited.

So I leave you with this picture and tons of spoilery Heroes screencaps under the cut. :D

Ohhhh, thank you thank you thank you! I knew there was a promo with actual footage that aired during Scrubs, but I didn't know when it would be up online! :D

I haven't read much about her character except that she will be Hiro's nemesis but basing on these pictures I'm looking very much forward to their scenes.

She's supposed to be a speedster. I'm slightly worried about how the special effect will look, since super speed nearly always looks dumb, but I like the character concept and think she and Hiro will be a lot of fun together.

I guess the first episode will pick up where "Powerless" left off because Matt/Greg is still on the police station set and wearing the same clothes.

Plus, they made Milo cut his hair (damn it!) and were casting for paramedics...

But I'm a bit surprised that there is no footage of Nathan because Adrian posted on his YouTube account that he would be working with Milo on the first day of shooting.

Probably way too spoilery. It's one thing to admit he's back, but to actually show what happens to him is another entirely.

... suspiciously like Peter/Milo. Now I'm wondering if Peter is really the shooter, would they reveal such a big spoiler in a promo? This has to be a red herring. Shape shifter? Illusion? Peter has an evil twin?

That fits perfectly with my favorite theory! It's Peter-From-Five-Minutes in the future. Or maybe longer, since we can't see if he has a scar. In the Kay Foster Adam Armus interview, they mentioned that there are "multiples" of characters when asked if we'd see Future!Hiro again, so I suspect this is a part of this and not at all a shape shifter (although, given Jeph Loeb's current Marvel work, about an invasion of shape shifters, there have been rumors there too).

BTW, they've apparently changed Joy's name to Daphne. Probably because they tend to go with personality descriptive names first (remembering Ethan and Harrison) and then real ones later.

I think so, too. It's hard to explain but they already work for me on a visual level. In those pics they already "look" very natural together and that they will be fun.

His hair is still longer than it was in "Powerless" but they styled it too look short. *is still hoping for semi bangs*

Okay, that makes sense. And Adrian said in the other clip 12_12_12 posted that he is not dead, that'll be enough for me.

I know. We have talked about this numerous times. But I'm still surprised a) to actually see the confirmation that Peter is the shooter b) that they reveal this so early. The latter is the biggest reason why I still have doubts that it really is Peter. You would think that the identity of Nathan's shooter is one of the big surprises in the season premiere. Why on earth would they spoil that?

They do! She looks exactly like the description of the character, pixie-like and joyous. Which really works together with Hiro. I did like Yaeko, but in terms of character, I think cheerful, zanier types work better for him.

*hopes with you* I don't think Peter, left to his own devices, likes short hair. That just seems too uptight for him. So if they jump forward several months, and I think the title "Butterfly Effect" implies they will, they should definitely have it seem to have grown out some.

Heh, well, I just love mentioning it every chance I can. Is that so wrong?

I think it's questionable as to whether this can be considered revealing. It's a very short spot that most people will see on TV. Mostly, they don't plan these things around the internet fans who are capable of screencapping things (which, yes, is ironic considering the Evolutions stuff and web content). But, seriously, they never seem to consider how much information we can mine out of this stuff.

It is a big spoiler, but I think they figure for internet fans it's just all that much more tantalizing, trying to figure out how it could be true. For non-net fans, it's not a spoiler at all. It's too quick in the clip. Honestly, it reminds me of 5YG. Plenty of us called the Nathan-Sylar reveal based off of the commercial, but still more people didn't, and I don't think it was necessarily a wrong move for them to include Nathan/Sylar saying he's the most special of all, just because some of us twigged on that.

Whereas I was happily crowing and punching the air over being right. Is it weird that I love not being surprised on a show that's pretty much entirely about cliffhangers?

I love that "jaw drop" moment. That's why I was so pleased at the end of "Powerless" when I was spoiled all to hell and Kring *rewrote* the episode so the Virus *didn't* get out. So. Pleased. :D

I do like that in finales. I never like knowing the actual ending before it happens, so I usually try to avoid spoilers for the final few episodes. Just, this time, I didn't actually know this would be the finale until after I was spoiled. So rewrites were a good thing! Even if there was some shouting at my screen, "you can't do that!"

I'm just worried that it's such a long time from now until S3 that we'll basically know everything by the season premiere. I'll definitely have to set up some kind of Willpower Reinforcement system to stop spoiling myself.

I have trouble believing they'll let that many spoilers out. Really, this is the first major one. Before they were placating us with stuff about Daphne and Senator Malden. With so many characters and all the villains, I think they can keep that up for a long time. Definitely until July.

P.S. Did you get the last e-mail I sent you re: Jeph Loeb? I'm surfing around for interviews and getting nothing. Where the hell is that Behind the Eclipse?

I did, and I just didn't have time to reply before leaving for work. I should have clarified. I don't know for sure who Jeph Loeb's favorites are, although I have the vague feeling may be one of the guys who likes Hiro best. It's just I don't have a problem with him having a favorite.

And that Behind the Eclipse serious needs to happen now! >:(

Hmmm, I'm still not convinced. Someone on 9thWonders saw the TV spot and recognized Peter as the shooter right away - without the help of screen caps. You have to remember that the TV screen is much bigger than this little internet clip and therefore it's even easier to recognize a person. Of course it's more likely that hardcore fans will catch something like this. The neutral TV audience has probably already forgotten how the shooter was dressed. I still don't think that TPTB would take the chance to reveal something this big so early.

I'm however seeing your point that the WHY might be more important than the WHO. Perhaps they want people to start wondering why on earth Peter would do something like this (and it's working). The motives are more interesting than the identity of the shooter.

How does the casting of the paramedics fit in the "set up" theory, btw? Sorry, if you told me before, I'm just thoroughly confused at this point. ;)

Yep. One of the things is that I don't think most casual fans would even be watching that closely. I half waved off the promo, ignoring what was going on, until I realized there really was footage in there.

And, for genre newbies, is quite mindbending. A lot of people really don't consider "time travel" as a plausible explanation. In any case, it's a pretty good means of generating talk about the show, without necessarily giving away the surprise. People will still doubt and argue, and plenty won't even catch it at all.

Oh, it doesn't help the set up theory. But it helps to prove that they can't just time skip, they have to start Butterfly Effect up right after Powerless. That's all I meant.

I am still hoping for Milo's "Bedford Diaries" hair. Remember that wake-up scene where it was all mussed up? Mmmmm.

That was good hair! :D

I'm torn on whether or not the shooter is Peter. If it is, I'm kinda regretting getting spoiled. Also, fandom might hate him even more now. ARGH.

Eh, as long as he's doing cool stuff, people usually like him. There wasn't much backlash after the fight with Isaac, for instance, because it was cool enough.

And remember, there's still the why of it being Peter. Is it part of the plan to martyr Nathan to make people listen? Is it Future!Peter, trying to avert a horrible, Days of Future Past style future? Is it a shapeshifter (although, I'd bet no. why disguise yourself to hide the shape you want others to see)?

Heh, well, I still don't think they were counting on people screencapping. Because they are very silly sometimes.

Plus, this is the beginning of a trickle. I doubt much more will come out before the webisodes in July. They don't want to spoil people, just tantalize and remind them about the show, since it's a very looooong time until new episodes.

Do you have any infos about the webisodes? Will they feature the original cast or will they be origin stories with unknowns?

I pray that I'll be able to watch them. But seeing that NBC prevents Europeans from watching the regular episodes on their site, I better not get my hopes up. :(

The only thing I know about the webisodes is that they will be about the manhunt of one of the villains. That kinda sounds like Knox, Monica's baddie, to me, but if they're still doing twelve villains, it could be anyone.

No idea if they regulars will be in them. I kinda doubt it, since they're going to be busy and Heroes has a history of making vids without them in the Evolutions stuff.

I'm sure they'll be somewhere. I will be very sad if they aren't.
