i have a friend that wants to move into the internet.
on the radio this morning, there was a story about a 16-yr-old practicing some immersive journalism by flying first to kuwait and then taking cabs into iraq. he got punched in the face by a cab driver for refusing to pay a fare. he called his parents to tell them he was cutting class. he wandered around trying to feed himself and taking notes (apparently). he drew a crowd in a bagdad restaurant when he couldn't speak arabic. finally he walked into the NYT bureau and they called his parents.
