C76 day 3
I met up with my friend LM7, who drew me this awesome picture in my sketchbook. I really enjoy his style a lot, very nice paintings! Met with Fやま, who made a cute pixel comic book!! I also imposed on him by having him be a translator for a short while, but it was all great! I then met takami, which I'll talk more about later. She was really tall, really cool, and super nice.
Fやま left later, and we (LM7, Kimberly, takami, and I) headed over to haLRu's table where he gave me his CD! Also a cool guy. We met the artist and a few others at his table. I then went to ghenik's (ゲニコ) table. Afterward, I visited sdn tome (トメ) who seemed very nervous but was really happy to meet me. I think a lot of the artists and people I meet get nervous because I speak English. That seems to scare a lot of people here!
I invited takami to have dinner with afuji and Kimberly, and that was SO FUN. I tried to talk, but my Japanese wasn't really understood and I had trouble with takami's Okinawan accent at times. We eventually settled on using my netbook to communicate with each other by typing out our words, and it worked awesomelike. She is really a kind person and she wrote/told me a lot of things that eased my silly fears that I was being a bother. I like to consider, and hope that she also-- considers that we're really friends now. That's how I really feel.
After having afuji on my LJ list for SO LONG, I have finally been able to meet her! She is also a cool cat, and it was refreshing to be able to not suffer through conversation by speaking English. We drew a lot of pictures (mostly afuji with Kimberly and takami with myself) and generally had a great time. I hope we'll be able to meet afuji again-- I took a look at our schedule and it is pretty packed. WE'LL MAKE TIME FOR KARAOKE.
