1) 12 декабря (кажется, что так давно -- а ведь не прошло и двух недель) был у нас Department Holiday Meeting, он же potluck. Но не в этом дело: примерно за две недели до того на кафедре появился лист, куда профессорам предлагалось записаться и указать, что они приготовят.
Выглядел он как-то так:

И выговор у него соответствующий. :)
Джон -- тип тот ещё. Типичный хиппи. Высокого роста, сутулый, всегда -- приветливый.
Вместо homework guidelines он выдаёт студентам Uncle John's Rules For Writing Good Math. И ещё: в его гардеробе обязательно есть что-то красное. Если не куртка, то рукавицы. Если не рукавицы, то свитер. В крайнем случае -- носки или платок. Или и то, и другое. :) Симпатичный дядька. Чудак в хорошем смысле слова.

Mr. Khroulev was very understanding to the fact that most of the students in this class are not taking math beyond this class. Ещё одно предложение стёрто: Obviously, he understands math in a completely different xxxxx. (последнее слово не разобрать)
Instructor, would at least try to answer questions.
It would help to have a teacher who knows what the hell he is doing. We don't need to spend 30 minutes finding the mean, median + mode of #'s.
The instructor was on time every day.
The instructor does not possess a broad enough vocabulary in English to effectively teach at the college level. His mathematics skills are very good, but he cannot teach other people in English well enough to learn.
Одному моему знакомому студенту как-то написали "I can't believe I paid for this crap." Бывает и такое. =)
Короче говоря, вот такое развлечение. Что улучшить/изменить -- я знаю. Работаю над этим. :)
