First Entrance: Three Pups! Three muns!

It was a perfectly good plan, really. You know, if Lorenzo hadn't shown up and completely blown their cover by being so darned recognizable. Mac tried to bluff their way out of it - and he would have managed, really, if the others had played along better, but they didn't have the sense they were born with, and then they had no excuse but to run.

The third boy kicks the door shut.

"Magnificent!" he gasps. "If we keep quiet, they can't find us."

Leo is rather on the ground right now. Lorenzo may not be an especially large young man, but he was also moving quite quickly.

He makes a point of checking the bag to see that nothing's spilled out of it (thankfully, nothing has)before grinning up at Lorenzo. "Fantastico. Let's just hope they didn't see us come in here."

Mac has apparently taken it on himself to be the observant one of the group. Or maybe that's because he had the opportunity to look at his surroundings before the Great Florentine Crash.

Unfortunately, he's now underneath Leo, who he shoves off himself unceremoniously.

"Excuse me, gents, but is that all you have to say?"

"I could get us something to drink so the barmaid won't give us away?" Lorenzo offers.

Where is the barmaid? Or potboy?

Leo looks a little vexed at being shoved off, but it passes quickly once Lorenzo mentions a barmaid, because Leo doesn't remember this particular building being any kind of tavern.

But sure enough, a quick look around makes it clear that it is, and a rather nice - what is that?

Leo scrambles to his feet and towards the window.

Finally, someone sees what Mac was seeing! He sends a prayer of thanks towards the Heavens before he notices where Leo's heading, and hurries after him.

"Please tell me you know what that is, Leo."

"This is a tavern, and the barmaid isn't where she ought to be!" Lorenzo says, still looking at the bar. "Hullo-oh!"

"I don't," Leo says excitedly. "No idea."

"Well, do you think you could figure it out?"

Mac checks over his shoulder - not at Lorenzo, but the rest of this strange place. "Because I'm beginning to suspect we're not in Florence anymore."

"No?" Lorenzo says. "Did you magically fly us to Perugia, Leo? No? Didn't think so."

Mildly: "I should create a Perugia-flying machine."

Beat.

"It looks like a window."

Mac would like to stop following Leo at as safe a distance as possible from that so-called window. But he can't do so without grabbing his friend by the shoulders and pulling him back towards him.

"If that's a window, why is there no ground outside it?"

If he sounds uncharacteristically scared for Mac, that's because there's a giant window into space right in front of him.

Finally, Lorenzo notices the window, and staaaaares.

For a moment.

"You're sure that's not just some kind of artwork?" he ventures, trying to explain away the enormity of Oh My God, so many stars!! And the colours!

Leo peers back at Mac, a little bit confused as to why he can't go near the pretty, fascinating window.

"If I could take it apart, I could find out," Leo says, eyes flicking about to each side of the window.

"Leo," Mac says, with slow, forced calm, "please don't take apart the glass between us and the giant explosions."

"The artist might be angry," Lorenzo supplies, helpfully.

In case the giant explosions are just a clever illusion.
