First Entrance: Three Pups! Three muns!

It was a perfectly good plan, really. You know, if Lorenzo hadn't shown up and completely blown their cover by being so darned recognizable. Mac tried to bluff their way out of it - and he would have managed, really, if the others had played along better, but they didn't have the sense they were born with, and then they had no excuse but to run.

The third boy kicks the door shut.

"Magnificent!" he gasps. "If we keep quiet, they can't find us."

Leo is rather on the ground right now. Lorenzo may not be an especially large young man, but he was also moving quite quickly.

He makes a point of checking the bag to see that nothing's spilled out of it (thankfully, nothing has)before grinning up at Lorenzo. "Fantastico. Let's just hope they didn't see us come in here."

Mac has apparently taken it on himself to be the observant one of the group. Or maybe that's because he had the opportunity to look at his surroundings before the Great Florentine Crash.

Unfortunately, he's now underneath Leo, who he shoves off himself unceremoniously.

"Excuse me, gents, but is that all you have to say?"

"I could get us something to drink so the barmaid won't give us away?" Lorenzo offers.

Where is the barmaid? Or potboy?

...Okay you know what, it's probably rude as hell, but they're going to hear the ten-year old VERY oddly dressed boy laughing at them from the rafters.

Damn right, it's rude as hell.

Machiavelli - for such is he - stands a up from his collision and dusts his flashy shirt down while he glares upwards.

"You could get down here if you're going to laugh at people, you know."

"How did you get up there?" Leo asks without standing. He has priorities, after all, and the first priority is finding out how to get to those rafters. It could come in handy.

Lorenzo offers his friend a hand. It's better to interrogate people while you're standing, he's been taught.

Apparently so, if the cackle coming from the short, pudgy, broadly built fellow in the leather coat nearby is anything to go by. "Nice moves," he comments. "How long did you rehearse that?"

"Oh, you know," Mac says smoothly, brushing down his waistcoat as he stands up, "We get three hours practice in every day."

He grins broadly at the short guy. "Think it's good enough for a few florens?"

...worth a try, right?

Varric thinks for a moment, then shrugs and reaches for one of his belt pouches. "It just so happens that I did some business with a gentleman who'd recently arrived from Rialto," he says. "He hadn't been to the moneychangers yet, so-"

The coins are silver rather than gold, but hey, you take what you can get.

Hey, great! Someone speaks Mac's language! He gives a dramatic, florished bow and graciously accepts the coin.

"Grazie, signore," he says as he straightens, before he looks at the coins.

And frowns.
And holds one up for a closer look.
And turns it over.

"...where did you say these were from, again?"
