It's not often that this particular redheaded woman is seen in the bar with anything on the table in front of her other than a laptop, but there are apparently exceptions to all trends because today the laptop is closed and set to the side so that there's room for the massive plate of pasta in front of her. Babs glances up. Then she looks him over (partly to see if she can pick out his age at this point in time, and partly just to mess with him).

Dinah keeps track of them. Of course, she denies that. But Hal knows the truth.

She recognizes that one. It's better than #12, but not really as effective as #9. At least in her opinion.

"Yeah? You do seem rather... memorable."

"Yeah," Hal says casually, because what's the point in trying to deny it.

"But then, so are you, and that pasta needs a glass of wine, doesn't it?"

"Offering to buy me a drink?" she asks, clearly amused.

[overcame_fear]

"I think I just did," Hal confirms. "Bar?"

"That's a very nice offer," she answers. "But I don't really drink much."

"Don't let me stop you."

[overcame_fear]

And there's a glass of one of Bar's better house reds. Hal might not know wine a lot himself, but he knows how to ask for the good stuff.

"So is that work or pleasure?" he asks, pointing at the laptop. Fortunately, she's closed it, whatever it is.

"Work." It's always work with her.

"But I'm taking some time off."

"Glad to hear it."

"Working too much," he shakes his head. "Never good."

"You look like the sort of guy who knows how to relax." Lots of practice, right, Hal?

[overcame_fear]

"I wouldn't call it relaxing exactly. But I'd call it fun."

[twiceahero]

"Adrenaline junkie?" she hazards. She knows the type.

[overcame_fear]

"You say that like it's not all a bad thing."

[twiceahero]

She laughs. "I'm sure you wouldn't think so."

Then she shrugs easily. "I may have known a couple in my time." May have been one once herself.
