There's a little known fact that if you wish to keep something secret from a ninja the best place to conceal it is in plain sight. This is especially true if what you're trying to conceal are plans for a birthday celebration, and the ninja you wish to keep these plans from is Michaelangelo

Dinah hovers by the table and munching on a red bean bun in her hand, looking at the paper from where she's standing.

"Whose birthday is it?"

[mnr_splinter]

He looks up from his notes to smile warmly at Dinah.
"My youngest son, Michaelangelo. Please, sit. Join me."

[raptorcanaria]

"The bartender?"

She does, and picks through a few of the papers as she moves them away from her food.

"What are you planning to do?"

[mnr_splinter]

"Yes, the bartender."

Never did he ever in his wildest dreams ever even THINK of using that as a descriptor for one of his sons.

F'n Milliways.

"That seems to be my dilemma. I am not sure."

[raptorcanaria]

"Well, what does he like?" Dinah asks, trying to remember what she can in the years since they've actually spoken.

"Except superheroes, I guess."

[mnr_splinter]

"Many things. I believe a simpler question would be to ask what he doesn't like."

His whiskers twitch as he considers the simplified question.

[raptorcanaria]

"Got very far with that one yet?" she asks, finishing her bun and balling up the paper as she thinks.

[mnr_splinter]

"Not very, no. This was much easier when he was smaller, and we had less access to the world."

[raptorcanaria]

"Why can't you just get all his friends together in a room and let the fun make itself?"

That's how Dinah imagines parties go - she hasn't had one herself since turning 18, and that was uncle-dominated.

"I believe that is what Michaelangelo calls: working."

[raptorcanaria]

Yeah, a bad plan when it's the bartender they're throwing the party for.

"Even when there're presents?"

[mnr_splinter]

It's even worse when the bartender doesn't drink, but is really good at encouraging others to do so.

"The presents would be different, yes. Though, that then raises another problem, what do you gift the bartender at the end of the universe?"

[raptorcanaria]

"Flowers," says the florist immediately. "Or tickets to a thing he likes."

[mnr_splinter]

That's just it though, he doesn't really know what Mike likes any more. His children...are not children any longer.

"I believe the time has far past where I am a credible judge of what things he likes."

[raptorcanaria]

"Disneyland," Dinah says. "Everyone likes Disneyland."

[mnr_splinter]

"According to Bar, he was once expelled from Disneyland."
