There's a young woman working at a little laptop computer at a table nearby.

She smiles at the dinosaurs and the gecko with cheerful approval.

She herself has pink ends in her hair, and is wearing artificial fairy wings, so probably does colourful rather well.

The fairy wings seem oddly familiar to him when he spots them through half-closed eyes. After a moment, he's reminded of a girl he saw in London who was wearing something similar, only much bigger, and has to laugh slightly.

"Why are you wearing that?" he asks, totally aware that he hasn't got much ground to stand on.

"And why are there dinosaurs on your duvet cover?" she asks, smiling.

"Because dinosaurs are cool," Travis says.

Duh.

"So are fairy wings!" Sirona says, proudly.

He looks at them for a moment, and then shakes his head.

"I don't think I could pull that off."

"I'm not even trying to sport dinosaurs or geckos!" Sirona says.

"Are you making fun of Pete?" Travis asks. "Don't make fun of Pete. Pete's cool."

"He's very, very cool," Sirona agrees.

"Back to my question, since you dodged it," Travis says easily. "What's with the wings?"

He answered her questions. Childishly, granted, but he still answered them.

"I like them," Sirona says.

Travis nods, which doesn't work so well, what with the pillow being in his way.

"I'd be worried if you were wearing them and you hated them."

[source_fairy]

"Yep, it would be worrying if you hated dinosaurs," Sirona says.

"My mum could have gotten for me," Travis points out. "You gotta use stuff your mum gives you."

[source_fairy]

"But not the gecko," Sirona points out. "Only rarely, mums knock you out and have you tattooed."

[cheeky_bugger]

"You don't know my mum."

Okay, that was total nonsense, but the man is clearly sleep-deprived.
