She shuffles awkwardly in her boots (covered in the three-toed dinosaur feet, of course), clutching both car and cardboard, and decides to step up to the bar to investigate.
Her eyes focus in on the ridiculously bright yellow brassiere hanging overhead - and go wide.

Because that could get very awkward, very fast.
(Well. Actually, the first thing Ned really does is clean the coffee that dribbles down his chin, and scoot himself out of the booth he'd been sitting behind.)
Then having determined that young Chuck is quite alone, and feeling automatically responsible for her well-being, he makes his way over.
It's as though he's stepped back in time. He remembers every single stitch on those dinosaur feet, and the smell of drying water-soluble paint from the cardboard buildings.

She's torn between taking in every single detail that filters in front of her line of vision (and there are a lot of those) and wondering why her best friend is nowhere to be seen.
He was right behind her, and she turns to look in that direction, a stream of emotions flickering over smaller, button-nosed features.
