It's one of Those Days.

...which is probably not a good way of describing it, given how many variations of Those Days there are. Nevertheless, for Trudy, it's one of Those Days where she wonders what the everlasting hell she was doing signing herself up for a posting that involved staying in the same place for six years.

(well, six years if she survived it, which is by no means certain, but details)

Last time she stayed in one place for so long, she was a child (or in cyro-sleep, but she wasn't aware for that). Ages zero to eight, she spent the entirety of her time in Dallas, Texas. After that, she was always moving somewhere. Lima with jaunts to Washington, then New Jersey with summers spent back in Peru, and then she enlisted and after all that...Well, the pilot's gotten used to being a gypsy. Circle the globe and come back to the home-camp, and then off again.

She's served half of her time. Three years.

And Trudy is starting to get...restless. Twitchy. An itch in her blood, which she is doing her best to ignore.

Today, that meant claiming a couch in front of the fire and reading an actual paper-and-bound book. Spanish, as it happens, on the ancient peoples of Peru.

Given by the way she spends a far amount of time staring into space, the distraction...isn't quite working.

mun will have to call slowtime for work, but open until it scrolls!
