Coming into the bar two nanoseconds after the mechs is the sprite picture of parental exhaustion.

Ana may be new, but she's got both her mommy and her daddy running like freshly-decapitated chickens.

So yeah; he probably doesn't quite notice which mech he happens across first.

Yawns are good for making sight difficult.

[Matrix isn't picky about who he meets, and neither am I. And, if anyone wants to know, Ana is back home with AndrAIa or a sitter. The Game sprite would probably kill me for bringing their alpha into Milliways this early on. :(!]

People get upset when they walk into someone with as many moving parts as Bumblebee.

That causes matrix' mouth to snap shut. Audibly.

"What? Huh?"

Pause.

"Who said that?"

I think he's caught in that weird half-awake-half-asleep level of consciousness. So yeah; his brain needs time to catch up.

Bumblebee puts up a hand and waves in Matrix's general direction. He's kind of funny like this. It's like watching some of the soldiers the day after they've played poker all night.

Those soldiers are not parents with kids ready to wake them up a half hour into their sleep time, are they?

"Oh. One of the Autobots. Right."

More yawning.

Ana is certainly putting him through his paces.

Well, Major Lennox was, but Annabelle's mostly grown out of that. Mostly.

Bee nods and queries, in the tones of the Beatles, "I'm so tired, I haven't slept a wink

She can resume that after she learns to walk.

Matrix isn't that lucky yet.

"Yeah." Pause. "I've got a new kid."

Oh look; a chair was just vacated! Now he can sit!

The next sound played back is the applause and cheering one might reasonably expect from hearing a sold-out crowd watching their home team kick the visiting team's butts in soccer. That is because that is where it was recorded.

Bumblebee thinks it sounds better than merely clapping his hands.

"Thanks," is the reply, with a laugh for the sound effects. It's like Mike the TV, but with far less annoyance and infinitely more smarts. "She's about three seconds old."

Bumblebee has to think about that one for a minute, as it's been a while since he's spoken to a sprite. Okay, he can understand that; he nods. And looks curious, because he hasn't seen this baby yet.

Is that an open invitation to parade all those jpegs of Ana? Is it?

"Would you like to see some pictures?"

Sure it is! Especially since all Bee has to do is nod in response.

(Look, he learned most of what he knows about humans from the Internet. The number of pictures he has seen of things that no one should ever have to see? Has to be calculated by advanced theoreticians. Seeing oodles of baby pictures? He's good with that!)

Great! Then spending about five minutes browsing a vidwindow the way you might with a digital picture frame should be fun.

And a firm establishment that Ana looks a lot like her mother in terms of skin and hair colour, while having several Matrix features, including-but-not-limited-to her eye colour.

Plus some prenatal pictures of a very-pregnant-and-very-patient AndrAIa.

And Bumblebee has exactly the proper response for that.
