Happy Hour

"So long as you aren't handling the drinks we should be golden."

Or, you know, not. Jo'll find out sooner or later.
She doesn't look concerned about her ten-year-old cotender.

Shephard looks up at the sign.

Shephard looks down at the jar.

In lieu of money Shephard will be depositing a fistful of .44 caliber bullets in the jar.

"Might as well git it out of the way now," he says. "I know my own habits. Gimme a bourbon, if y'don't mind."

"You got it."

That's a sound she recognizes.
The bullets get an intrigued glimpse.

She rummaged for the bottle holding out her other hand to Anna.

"Glass. One of the small, almost cone shaped ones."

"Hi," Anna says, cheerfully, to the man who is their very first customer. "Welcome to happy hour."

Anna looks at the glasses behind the bar -- and wow are there a lot of glasses behind the bar -- and finds what she thinks is the one Jo is asking for.

"Like this?"

"We ain't really got what you'd call money in use at home just now," Shephard offers by way of explanation. He's in his civvies for once, as far as you can call them that- there's no camo markings or insignia, certainly, but the T-shirt and cargoes and boots sure look as if he bought them on a military base somewhere for the times when he really didn't have another choice. "These're about the only small valuable I c'n trade off real easy."

Moist has been staying around the Bar counter since he's trying to figure out how the tab board works and if its possible to get his name taken off of it.

So when Jo and Anna are behind the counter he laughs at the announcement,

"Can you tell me which one tastes the best?"

"Nope," Anna says cheerfully.

"I'm not allowed to drink any of them.

"But I like the name of the party girl one."

So, there's that.

"Whereas I'd go for the first."

It's more her kind of flavor.
Which none of them are exactly.

"I'm Jo, and this is Anna. What kind of drinks do you like?"

"I always enjoy a good whiskey when I can get it but otherwise I'm not too choosy. Alfred and its nice to meet you both. What's in the first one?"

Castiel had noted, with great interest and curiosity, that Anna and Jo were moving about behind the bar, even before Anna's announcement.

All that it lacks is a Hark!

Castiel comes closer to Bar to investigate.

"Anna."

"Jo."

Castiel gets a smirk.

"You tryin' drinks again?"

Hey, it's the Man in the Coat!

"Hi," Anna says, happily.

"I am helping Jo with the bar."

Castiel blinks down at her.

"I see that."

It does not occur to Castiel that there is anything especially strange about a ten year old tending a bar.

He examines the board.

"I am not familiar with these drinks," he admits.

Such strange names. Why do drinks need names in the first place?

"If that would be appropriate," he says. He did approach the Bar, after all. Having a drink would be customary. "What would you recommend?"

"What kinda racket are you running here, kiddo?"

Blame the swear jar.

Dean scrubs one hand through his hair, smile half-leaving his face when he catches sight of Jo.

"Uh. Hey, Jo."

So this is awkward.

"Hi, Dean!

"You know Jo?"

That's wonderful. They're like her two favorite people here, and they know each other!

"I'm helping Jo tend bar!"

(What, you thought you were the only one who got to be a bad influence, Dean?)

Right. So. Cause that didn't bring home right into it.

At least Anna had started with talking? Exuberantly.

"Hey." Swallow it down. "You want a beer or a drink?"

"I dunno."

Maybe awkward ain't the right word.

"You got any recommendations, kid?"

When in doubt, pull in the tiny redhead. She'll totally save him.

Right?

"Hey, pretty girl." Elle gets a smile.
There was no way Jo could forget her.

"I promise they don't bite?"

"Hi, Elle!"

This is fun!

She gets to help Jo, and talk to all her friends.

"How are you?"
