Ava blinks.

Politely!

She had been about to order some cocoa. Maybe a mocha. But now she's staring with interest at this tall well-built haggard guy.

Muscles are weird.

(Ava's a dead murderess wearing a necklace of demon clown noses. She finds nothing hypocritical about thinking glistening muscles are strange.)

Hercules is used to stares. Staring is something that comes along with being a demigod (and wearing what many would call a skirt in 'modern' times). He wipes his brow with the back of his hand and turns.

"Wouldst thou like to take a picture? It shall last longer," he remarks, but there is no sting in his tone.

Ava snorts.

Those are big words from a man in a little skirt.

"Are you one of those Renn Faire guys?"

Herc sighs a bit, a not uncommon reaction.

"I assure you," he says, running a hand back through his hair. "I am no mere man. I am Hercules, the son of Zeus!"

Demeter sees him and comes over with a frown,

"What's gone wrong now?"

"Tis a dark world, now," Herc says, relaxing a bit with the familiar voice. "False Avengers plague my path."

He really hated the name 'Avengers' getting run through the mud.

"Oh my. What can you do against them?"

"...I didst punch a boat," Herc admits. "I think it is going to allow my companions and I to continue forward."

Jamie will have to give the gentleman ten points for style and a round of polite applause for that bound!

Herc turns his head, and forgets his woes for a moment to smile and bow at the applause.

Hey, it pays to have a sense of humor.

Jamie laughs openly in response - jokes are a wonderful way to get by in this world! - and says, "Someone ought to buy you a drink on the strength of that. But I haven't any money, so it won't be me."

"I dost not need the charity of others," Herc says. "But the thought tis appreciated. I am a demigod, after all. Though my entrance twas not planned."
