"Yeah, well, givin' you that gun back ain't really high on mine," He replies. It isn't arrogant, because Bill isn't really the arrogant type and won't be starting now with someone like Ramon, but he is serious and trying to hold his ground.
What little piece he has here.
"Look, I'm sorry for the way things happened in the stables, but looks like you're doin' alright."
He repeats his words back to him again but this time its more surprised than sarcastic.
'What the fuck have you got to be sorry about? You pulled a gun on me. You think I'm going to apologise when I return the favour?'
Please.
He leans closer, his expression dark and his tone quiet, but angry.
'You have no idea whether I'm alright or not. I won't be alright until that bitch gets what's coming to her. Now I'll ask you again - where is my gun?'
"I stepped in because the two of you were set t'kill each other. I was apologizin' for leavin' you like you were, but with the way you two were goin' at it, it didn't seem smart to stick around."
He did go back, though, not that he thinks it'll mean much to Ramon that he did.
When the distance between them closes more Bill's own expression shifts and it doesn't match Ramon's, but it has it's own quiet edge to it.
"You leave her alone. Was just a stupid argument that got outta hand, you both can leave it at that."
He laughs - well, it's more of a chuckle, one that speaks volumes of you've got to be kidding.
'Who the hell are you to tell me where I should leave it? You've already stuck your nose in our business once and look where that got you. You're in no position to be handing out orders.'
His hand jerks forward involuntarily; he didn't plan it but annoyance turned to anger and suddenly, he's gripping Bill's shoulder hard and getting right up in his face.
'What did I just say? A shitty little cop lie you doesn't get to tell me what to do. She shot me. If you think I'll let that go, you must be even dumber than you look.'
He releases him as quickly as he'd grabbed him, and takes a step back. Some people -mostly cops - just make his blood boil as soon as he looks at them and Bill is certainly having that effect.
Bill's hand grabs the counter to steady himself as he stares back at Ramon.
"You ain't too smart, either, if you think you can carry out a grudge in a place full of her friends."
When Ramon lets go Bill jerks his shoulder back and straightens his shirt, feeling anger start to burn beneath his skin and trying hard not to react with it.
"You wanna keep pushin' this thing that's your damn choice, I'm just tryin' to stop it before it really gets out of hand."
Ramon can see where Bill's going wrong - he doesn't understand that Ramon likes it when things like this are out of hand. He has no interest in playing by the rules and is completely incapable of letting someone insult him and then walk away.
'I've done worse in this place. And who's going to stop me? You?'
He snorts and looks the man up and down, pure scorn on his face.
'I've got friends here too - but I don't need them. Not for her. And not for you, either.'
If he'd been planning on letting Bill off for his part in what happened (unlikely), then he sure as hell isn't now.
'I've got plenty of guns, Bill. Keeping that one from me wont make any difference.'
But it's not the point. It's his gun and Bill is refusing to give it back. He wants to break the man's face for even dering to consider he can pull that shit.
'And you should think again, for the good of your own health. Stronger people than you have tried, and failed, to take me down.'
'Then get used to failure. Because nothing's going to stop me when it comes to that woman.'
He's a single-minded man. He won't be deterred and nothing frightens him. He picks his smokes up from the bar, lights one and puts the pack in his pocket.
'I'll give you three days to return my gun to me. Any longer than that and I'll come looking for it.'
...or not, as the case may be. Ramon tosses his smokes down on the counter next to the man, then leans against it, facing Bill with a dark expression.
'I believe you have something of mine.'

"Ramon, hey, guess we outta talk."
He also manages to keep his voice level and his eyes on the man.

Talk.
'Talking isn't really high on my agenda with you, Bill. Where's my gun?'
He likes that gun.

Bill is annoying him more and more by the second.

There's no way Ramon or Kate would've come out of that standoff alive.
"Doesn't make any kind of sense for you two to keep at it, so just stay away from her."

Anger bubbles closer to the surface at Ramon's words and the way he's just dismissing him.
His jaw tightens and it's hard to remember that he's trying to diffuse the situation, not make it worse.
"Reckon you won't be needin' your gun for it, neither."

It's not easy to say whether a crazy drug-lord is worse than a psychopathic doctor or aliens and zombies, but Bill has survived a lot on his own.
"It's not somethin' I want, but I'm not gonna let you hurt me or my friends."

The threat is implicit in his tone.

Instead he nods; not that he'll be returning the gun, just that he's heard Ramon.
