Demyx is on the couch by the fire.

Demyx is not the only person on the couch by the fire.

He's draped himself half-across Axel's lap at this point while he strums on the sitar and makes notes here and there on music paper.

Someone, rescue poor Axel from this terrible fate?

Every now and then, there are fingers in Demyx's hair.

But mostly, Axel stares into the fire, and tries not to be too distracting.

Demyx makes a pleased little purring sound at every touch. But mostly he's writing. Mostly.

this is oh-so-very much BEFORE Roxas.

"Writing something good?" Axel asks him.

"I'd write better if I got a kiss." Demyx replies innocently.

"Should've said so sooner," Axel replies, ducking his head down to oblige.

"Mmm" Demyx hums into the kiss, feeling all... blissful and floaty and yes.

His trip to Agrabah then elsewhere with Axel had done wonders for his mood.

Axel cards his fingers through Demyx's hair again.

"Gonna write better now?"

"Mmmhmmm." Demyx smiles. "Wanna hear some of it?"

"Yeah," he replies. "Play me something no one's ever heard before."

"So demanding!" Demyx complains, sticking his tongue out, but he shifts the papers away and moves the sitar more fully onto his lap to play what he's been working on for Axel.

Axel watches him play, as much as listens, the way Demyx's fingers dance across the strings, pulling the music out in a way Axel feels he just barely understands.

He has the dexterity to play, but he doesn't really have the heart for it.
