There is a litter of kittens on a table, most of which are so tiny that their eyes haven't opened yet. They're forming a soft, mewing pile of fur, looking for the warmth of a mother that isn't there ( Read more... )

Teja is not the sort of man to utter a sentiment best expressed by 'Awwww' aloud; but he stands by a nearby pillar, casually, tea cup in hand, and watches the very small animals.

The Goth king does like cats, also.-

[[OOC: This is not one of the baited, but I hope tagging is all right nevertheless?]]

[OOC: of course it is!]

Cootchie cootchie coo, says Death.

Not to Teja, of course. That would be weird.

"They are such sweet creatures," Teja finally says, having watched the kittens for quite a while.

Yes, Death says. They are. It makes me angry.

There's a damp sack at his feet.

[ooc: Also jumping in on this. >_> Hope you do not mind!]

At first, Max's expression says OHMIGOD KITTENS!

... then, not a second later, it says OH MY GOD GIANT SKELETON.

Death is distracted, so doesn't look up straight away.

He's trying to detach a kitten who got too involved in the suckling.

Give him a second, and he'll warm up to the image in front of him.

... there!

"Aw!"

Sure, it's a thousand different shades of creepy, but! Kittens!

It is, indeed Aw.

Death looks up.

Good evening, he says. Do you like cats?

Although most of the Jumblies are busy a few of the younger ones are bored with brewing and have decided to go scouting for more interesting things ( ... )

[OOC: Only because it's you]

Part of the reason they might not have noticed him is because he drew a hand back to watch with interest. Certainly, in Milliways things are different; people tend to be alert for unusual things and are more likely to see things that are really there.

The kittens are happy to have more bodies among them. Especially if they're suckable.

The Jumblies are themselves unusual... They would probably notice if someone started stroking the cats again.

The Jumblies don't mind being nibbled. The scales are usually good protection if something gets too strong a grip, but they certainly don't mind being gummed by babies, no matter what species they are... It tickles.

After a while, one of the Jumblies is subjected to skeletal phalange prodding.

What manner of thing are you?

"Well."

Mother Nature looks down at the kittens from beside the table.

"There's something you don't see every day. But then, you don't see Mother Nature and Death together everyday, either, do you? We sort of work at different ends of the same line."

Death grins at her.

The ends of that line meet quite often, he observes.

"So it does."

She smiles back.

"Though when things are in proper balance, we're both equally busy in our work."

Yes, Death agrees.

Although things are rarely 'proper'.

First things first: Great, big, black cloak of fabulosity. Litter of kittens that you could just gobble up with a cuteness chaser they're too adorable.

First things first, the second batch: Lorne is not into that sort of thing.

But he is a curious kitten, himself. "Ooooooh, be still my heart, are you trying to charm my socks off, Mister? If you are, mission accomplished. If you aren't, well, it's your lucky day anyhoo!"

Don't mind him having a seat, please. The kittens are too lovely to just walk on by.

Oh, Death doesn't mind. He likes people who likes cats.

Is it lucky that you have no socks?
