Put together:

1 booth
2 mugs (1 half-full of coffee, the other empty)
1 laptop
1 clipboard (papers included)
2 ballpoint pens
and 1 Pepper Potts

and you get --

-- one supremely minimalist, but eminently taggable post.

[ ooc: open until it falls off the page.

"Whut ur yew workin' awn, thar?"

Wilbur thinks that clipboards and strange, mysterious bits of paper are fun. He doesn't know about laptops yet.

"Nothing, just writing up an e-mail to Agent Co--"

She looks up mid-name, and comes to a bit of an impasse.

Whatever or whoever she was expecting, it didn't quite resemble Wilbur in her mind's eye.

Wilbur, being quite used to this, ignores it completely.

"Whut's an e-mayul? Es thet like regular mayul?"

"It's the same principle," Pepper manages, after a few more moments of silence.

"It's a little faster, though."

"Good day, Pepper." Xaldin manages to put pleasure into his voice, and holds up a hand to wave. "How are you?"

Pepper's quick to smile as she looks up, waving back.

"Oh, same as usual. It seems I've been gone for more time here than I was on the other side, though. How're you?"

"It's been a bad couple of months, but there are those helping me." Xaldin says, settling into the air across from her, "I had noticed you weren't here."

If he could say he missed her, without lying, he would.

"I'm sorry I wasn't here to help," she says, a rueful note playing into her voice.

"I guess I should be glad I didn't miss everything, then."

She probably knows the look of someone absorbed in their work by now, both from experience and seeing it in her employer. And she'd almost certainly know it as it pertains to number-crunching.
But how often do you see it in a college kid trying to get his homework done on the sly?
In any case, Cosmo's at a nearby table, working on a problem set. He's sitting so that when he glances up, it's in Pepper's direction, but he's a little too intimidated to actually say something. Social situations have never been his strong point.

They are, fortunately, one of Pepper's specialties, and, recognizing the look about him, offers up a friendly smile and a wave.

She gets a (somewhat sheepish) smile in return. "Um. Hi. Sorry, I was just... I needed to look away from the numbers for a second."
He might be bad at this stuff, but he'll at least try.

"It's no problem," she says, shaking her head, "I hit a bit of a block, anyway."

Curiosity piqued, she nods over at his table.

"What're you working on?"

There's a face he hasn't seen in about a hundred years! Literally. It hasn't changed much, either.

"--Pepper? Pepper Potts?"

Unfortunately, he is someone that Pepper, in her timeline, has yet to meet.

She looks up, smiling as politely as ever.

"Yes?"

And equally unfortunately, she's rather dead in his.

Which is why Steve looks like he's seen a ghost, and draws up short of her booth. "You don't know me."
