First impressions are what matter most, in any society, situation, or upon the first meeting of a stranger. You have no idea who it is that you are about to come into contact with, and when image is everything, it is crucial to look your best and project the image of dignity, power, and grace ( Read more... )

Aramis blinked curiously at everything, and traded glances with his friends, "I don't recall anything about heaven having this much metal and wood though."

"You would be the expert," Athos muttered, still glancing around at the interior. "And I hardly would believe that lowlife could have gotten the best of the three of us in one go."

"But," Porthos said, already working his way into the bar and winking at a fine looking woman and nearly chasing after her, "while we are here I suggest we try the local brew. Since them out...and..enjoy.."

Oh look another pretty woman has just caught his eye. Removing his feathered hat he drops a courtly bow to her sending her giggling and aay. "..the pleasentries the place has to offer."

"Well, I suppose so if there's no sign of him here." He re-sheathed his sword. His eyes took notice of another comely lady in passing. Curious fashion here.

"Perhaps it would be best if we took the time to plan," Athos agreed, before making his way over to a table. What in the world was that young man wearing? Perhaps this was a stranger place than they had thought.

Then again, a tavern in a stable...

"...or find out if we've hit our heads."

The be-scarfed Musketeer is quite sure that if they have hit their heads that he does not want to be woken from this dream. Pretty women, a tavern..heaven. It had to be. At least his version of it. "Oh come now, Athos. A couple of minutes here wouldn't be quite so bad would it? And I do doubt that either of you has hit your heads since it was me that was at the bottom of the pile."

"That was before you sent us into the walls however, Porthos." He turned around to peer back at the door behind them, and then scanned his surroundings. And then his eyes alighted on the window.

"....Dear God in heaven," he whispered, and crossed himself at the sight of such strange lights.

"What the..."

Athos blinked and stared at the window before he moved to the bar. He was looking for an owner, or tender, but he was too focused on the window.

"I need a drink."

There's a whirr and a click and flipping of brass and wooden panels, and he stares as a large mug of something red appears on the top. He cautiously takes a sip.

"...this is heaven."

Window wut?

Someone was watching the drink just appear out of nowhere and Athos taking a drink. Gonna have to force him to take a look boys. "Ah..Athos? Did that just appear when you asked for it? Because if it did I do think that I would like to have one of those as well."

And upon request the same sort of mug appears causing tears to well up in the former pirate's eyes. Sniffling slightly he raised a gloved hand to dab at his eyes. "Thank you, God..Thank you."

Aramis stared at the window a moment longer, and then he glanced over at the other two. Unsure if God was responsible, or if there has been a terrible accident or similar misfortune occurring to all three of them. He said a brief prayer, and then decided a drink is the wisest recourse for the moment.

"And one for my..." Before he could even finish his sentence there was more whirring, and gears moving to bring a third mug to the top for him.

"Yes, thank you..." He took a cautious sip, and was pleasantly surprised by the smooth taste of the port.

It really was quite excellent. Athos was busy tasting and properly enjoying said mug of wine, the way any man who knew his wines would.

"Such a fine vintage..."

A few words of praise are muttered in French as he takes another sip.

"All for one and all..for..."

Someone has just discovered the window and is staring slack jawked and with the look of wtf upon his face.

"Steady there, Porthos." There was a hand to his shoulder.

"I do not understand the sight myself. Perhaps a sign from God."

"Or a sign of trouble," Athos comments oh-so-helpfully with another sip of the wine.

Always the optimist!

Soon Porthos was tilting his head to the left leaning off the edge of the stool trying to get a better look at the window around his friends. This is when we also have a Musketeer on the floor with a loud thud and a few curses in French under his breath.

"For once," he says, pulling himself up off the floor, "I have no witty remark or can blame it on the drink."

"Not yet on the drink. Perhaps some more might help your view?" He was currently taking his own advice with some more sips from his own mug.
