It's a hard thing for Clark to ask the bar for store bought cookies. He didn't have the guts to do this at home, because one just simply doesn't bring such things into the Kent household. Not unless they want Martha Kent to never bake for them again and Clark? Thinks he might die without his mother's pies and cookies and muffins.

Mostly the pies.

But, some things just have to be done. Like studying Oreos to try and figure out what's so damn special about them. To that end, Clark is indeed staring at a plate of aforementioned brand named cookies in deep contemplation.

Who knew cookies could be so mysterious?
