Ever have one of those days when you really ought to have your Jedi mind shields up a little harder?
Yeah. THis is one of those.
Ray looks up from the coffee he's been slugging back to get through the night in Chicago and blinks. "Oh, hey," he says. "Hi there. You're new, aren't you?"
"I guess I'm new here, Ray," she says brightly, pulling up a couple of textbooks and holding them to her chest with barely concealed affection for the volumes. She pulls the reading glasses up onto her hair. "But it's nice to see a familiar face. Where am I?"
Oh. Oh wow. No wonder she's managed to impress Egon!
Ray beams fondly. "You mean you didn't recognize the place? I'm surprised. Welcome to Milliways. Hasn't somebody told you about the Bar at the End of the Universe before? I thought for sure you'd know by now."
"You showed me a couple of proofs that you'd mentioned you'd worked out here, but I've never gotten to come before. Oh, does my father know about this?"
"We haven't had the chance to brief the president on it yet, no," Ray says sadly. "Maybe once I get back from Chicago, especially since I"m pretty sure we're going to have a national-level incident there sooner or later. What do you think of the place in the meantime? The first drink's free and they make anything that you want. Pretty much anything at all."
"Of course," says Ray, smiling and nodding knowingly. "Well, you should have plenty of time to work on them here, what with the time-pouching and all. I can't imagine he'll be anything but impressed with your progress."
"I guess. I mean, I know I'm the top of my class at Harvard, but that doesn't mean anything. Even when you add in the help I've been giving you guys lately."
"Oh, gosh yes," says Ray. "Listen- I'm sorry Peter hasn't been appropriately grateful about that. I think he's just jealous of Egon, really, when it comes right down to it."
Yeah. THis is one of those.

President Winston, of course.

She blushes.
"Egon-- I mean, Doctor Spengler gave me a few things to work on and I've just been busy trying to figure them out for him."
