Does Mr. Bond count as a familiar face to Corran? He's in a good enough mood today. For no particular reason. Nope. Just good enough to make him grin more than usual. He remembers enjoying the conversation with Corran when they first spoke, so he has no qualms walking up to the other man's booth.
Corran looks up from absently swirling his Whyren's--and smiles. "James, isn't it? Have a seat, sir." He waves across the booth. "You look like you're in good spirits--good news from Earth?"
His brow furrows, and after a moment, he shakes his head. "Nope, not a familiar name. I'll have to keep an ear and an eye out for her. You know, to make sure she knows what I know about intelligence types." Corran smirks with far too much venom to be real.
Hands reflexively rise in a mildly defensive stance--not that he really thinks he's in danger. But when Iella and Winter get that look... "Alright, so it was a lame joke."
He shrugs and leaks a wry grin. "Well, when your wife, your best friend, and the wife of your commanding officer all work in Intel... you tend to get away with nothing." As he says this, he draws his palm over his face, trying not to laugh. And failing. "And they don't even have to communicate. They all figure it out individually."
"Ah." He grins. "Doesn't sound too different from ordinary friendships, if you're all close enough. But intelligence offers do have a way of finding out information with more efficiency than your best friend's neighbor."
"Well, when I say they find out, they look at me and know where I've been, what I was doing, and if I made any stops along the way before I have an opportunity to explain myself. Mirax, my wife, has the unfair advantage of even reading my thoughts."
Corran's grin widens. "Course, then again, they're all female, so maybe it just comes with the territory."
He chuckles. "I've just about stopped hiding things from my friend in the MI6. If I don't tell him now, he'll find out later. And by later I mean probably a few minutes later. He's second in command there. If he had difficulty finding information he'd be out of a job."
"In the Intel community? I believe it." Corran laughs. "See, this is why I'm just a simple pilot now, not in investigations anymore. Got tired of having to have the answers. Now, they just point me in a direction, and I blow it up. Much easier."
"See, they never liked it when I'd blow things up in the process of finding answers. They always got really mad unless Hal said otherwise." He shakes his head ruefully. "I suppose that's the difference between law enforcement and Intel--collateral damage is a bit more acceptable in Intel."
"Afternoon."

What he leaves out is that he's supposed to just find answers, and that blowing things up is an embellishment on his part.
