Double pup post

Sep 05, 2006 00:01

By the lake a teenager woman stretched to the last rays of a setting sun. The sense of peace from a bit of light yoga was not to be underestimated, or so Thea would say.

Inside the Bar, Kaye Fierch is doggedly pushing half melted ice- ( Read more... )

A sense of peace is a good thing. Something many come to Milliways to find.

Here's another, making himself at home, curling up comfortably on Thea's stomach.

And many find themselves eluded. A shame.

"I could do without the extra weight." Thea grumbled, scritching the kitty despite her bad temper at being interrupted.

His objective was only to help complete the sense of peace, of course. A beautiful sunset, a quiet evening outdoors, and a soft, warm thing that makes a pleasing sound when scritched. He only wished to help.

Right.

He purrs, his form lightening until it is scarcely the weight of a feather, yet still solidly cat: his fur still silky and soft, his purring a deep vibration of content. "No problem." As long as the scritchings continue.

"That's cheating." She was not surprised. Yrael never played fair. He was a devil!cat. That is if she believed in the devil.

As it is, she merely donated both hands to the peaceful effort of a purring cat.

"You're obviously content here."

"Where does it say in the rules that that is cheating?" He purrs and pushes his head against her hand to look at her, upsidedown.

Noooo! Not a devil!cat!

A not'cat.

Totally different thing. Truly.

"Yes. It is my home." He smiles, drowsily. "The first place I found where I felt I belonged. It is mine." Possessive little bugger, when he has something to possess.

"It doesn't." She tilted her own head to regard him solemnly; impossibly honest eyes stared.

Well not a not!Devil!cat that's for sure! Thea followed the sentence with a non-comnittal noise, looking out over the shining lake.

Ball of yarn?

He'd possess that, too. Against his will.

"Then it is not cheating," he smirks, amused and comfortably triumphant.

Evil, tempting, wooly braggarts.

"It's unsporting." The witch argued, fingers moving to tickle behind his ears.

His head pushes up against her hand as his green, green eyes half-close in sly pleasure.

"It depends on one's definition of sporting, I would think. To me, each should use what options are open to them. That is sporting."

"Would you rather I stayed the same weight, instead? You said you could do without it."

"You're okay." She replied, smoothing the fur she had ruffled into stripes.

"Terribly rude, but it's fine." A hint of amusement crept into her otherwise smooth voice.

"Rude? Rude? Me, rude? Noooo. Say it ain't so." He flops dramatically onto his back, full of woe.

"It's so. Betta' believe it Jive cat." Thea drawled in a not entirely forced Southern accent.

Attack of the evil belly scratchings. Beware Yrael, beware the chair blonde.

He's never been called Jive cat before, but he has no time to contemplate this new addition to his growing list of names, for the belly scratchings attack!

And there is happy!kitty!flailings of purry-happy doom before he melts into a puddle of happy kitty.

She did not dip her fingers in catnip on regular occasions, so this was a tad surprising. Animals had always liked her though.

The witch laughed softly, it was impossible not to. He was so damn cute.

"You left yourself open for attack." She beamed.

His voice is mostly lost beneath all the purring.

"Curses, foiled again," he murmurs, blissfully.

"You sound like a lawnmower." The accent sneaked through again, causing Thea to snort loudly.

"Dignified."
