David's in the bar. Evidently, he looks a little busy. He came here looking for someone - Richard, or Nick, or even Lestat. Anyone, really. He doesn't have his papers with him - the book's almost finished, and it's sitting at home in a folder, awaiting him.

Come, talk to the vampire! He doesn't bite (except when hungry).

Lawrence is ever present in the bar lately.

He takes a sip of his tea and gives a fleeting smile to the vampire at the bar. "Good afternoon."

David returns the smile.

"And the same to you."

Inside, he's buzzing.

He's a poor judge of internal buzzing, so he's not creeped out.

"A pleasure to meet you, I am sure. You may call me Lawrence, if you desire."

He extends his hand to Lawrence. Go go gadget arm!

"The pleasure's all mine," David replies, still smiling. "Can I buy you a drink?"

No, he's not aware that Nick knows Lawrence. Hush.

The consta-smile is a bit creepy.

"Well, I would not say no." He arches a brow. "Whiskey, if you please. Or lemonade, if you favor the non-alcoholic..."

"A whiskey it is, then," he says, and orders two - he takes one for himself, also. "I'm sorry, I don't mean to-"

He makes a vague gesture.

"I know who you are. It would be difficult to not know."

Lawrence laughs.

"It is equally as startling to find people here who know of me as it is to find people who know nothing at all of the Arab revolt, I suppose. It is of little consequence."

"I'll admit, I was born in the middle of it, but my parents couldn't help telling me of the world. We travelled a lot; there's a lot to take in, but... good Lord."

He shakes his head, smiling and he'd probably be blushing if he could.

Probably, and Lawrence gets the sudden feeling that perhaps David can't. But no matter.

He takes a slow sip of his whiskey and then gives a slight tip of his head. "Well, I should hope that I do not disappoint, in that case." A slightly crooked grin over the rim of his glass.

He buries his nose in the glass for a moment, mumbling.

If Lawrence catches any of it, it would be, 'certainly not disappointed, no no no.'

The fanboy, it hurts.

He gives David a good-natured pat on the shoulder.

"Do speak up, dear boy."

He clears his throat.

"Merely saying that it's certainly not a disappointment at all."

Cough.

His lips twitch into a half-amused smile that he manages to muffle rather well with another sip of his drink.

"That is a small comfort, perhaps."

A soft glare that's more of an eyeroll than anything else.

"I do apologise. I'm not normally so-" creepy, "strange."

"I should have to ask others of such things to be completely certain." That smile? Not going away.

"But of course, I am impeccably fair. Who would you prefer I ask?"

"Oh, if you must, please steer clear of anyone who knows me," comes the reply with a grin. "They'll all tell you I'm incredibly strange."

He takes a sip of his drink.

"That rules out a fair few people. Charlie Pace, Nick Knight, Liam Pace, Richard Mayhew, Gary Perunu..."

The list goes on a while.
