David's in the bar. Evidently, he looks a little busy. He came here looking for someone - Richard, or Nick, or even Lestat. Anyone, really. He doesn't have his papers with him - the book's almost finished, and it's sitting at home in a folder, awaiting him.
Come, talk to the vampire! He doesn't bite (except when hungry).

Another gesture, 'may I join you?' follows it fairly closely.

He takes a sip of his tea and gives a fleeting smile to the vampire at the bar. "Good afternoon."
Reply
"And the same to you."
Inside, he's buzzing.

"A pleasure to meet you, I am sure. You may call me Lawrence, if you desire."
Reply
"The pleasure's all mine," David replies, still smiling. "Can I buy you a drink?"
No, he's not aware that Nick knows Lawrence. Hush.

She's been scarce since meeting Lestat again.
Her eyes are still a little haunted, but the cunning, sharp gaze is slowly returning.

"I should have told him you were here, shouldn't I have?"

"He is as cruel from his time as he was in mine," she murmurs sadly.

"I should have told you, too," he sighs. "I don't think he means to be cruel. He loved you - and does still."
