Summary: It took a lot for Jason to brave the darkness again.

Get out. You'll get trapped. You've got to get out right now. Now now now!

Jason willed the voice in the back of his mind to shut up. He remembered the subconscious scream that was eating away at him - it was the same one that had been screaming in his head as he desperately tried to claw his way out from his grave. He didn't remember all that much from that time period, due to the brain damage, but that voice never really went away.

So why was he inching his way, slowly, through a collapsed sewer tunnel deep below Gotham, without anyone knowing where he was or able to rescue him if things went wrong? Because despite what Bruce seemed to think, he was still a hero. The reports had come in that Clayface had stored one of his hostages deep underground, and the broken water main meant that the little girl didn't have much time left ( ... )
