A White November

I live in Oregon. Not in Portland, but so close that most of the time I just say Portland for ease. We don't get a lot of snow here in Not-Portland. Last year we got some pretty heavy stuff in February, to the point where my window was covered solid in ice. It was really bad for Not-Portland. The last big storm besides that was 2008, and we had snow coming down heavy for at least a week, and continued to have snowfall into March (of course, none stuck beyond January).

Today though...

They were forecasting snow here in Not-Portland. It was the big topic of the hour. I doubted it. It was a big deal though, before the snow even started falling the schools were closed. It started falling though. There is about an inch on the ground, and the wind is howling. It's pretty surprising, pretty too since I don't have to go out in it, so I'm just sitting inside here with a cup of cold coffee that is more creamer than coffee working on NaNo and pretending that the beast known as College is a myth.

snow, my winter dreams, personal
