The house at 44 was as ready as it was going to get for this party, despite Sam's distracted fears to the contrary. Everything was clean and presentable; snacks, food, and drinks had been laid out all through the kitchen and dining room; the doors to the master bedroom and attic had been locked and secured. He'd figured out how to set the sound system up to stream music from his computer, even.
