MILIEUX STREET FESTIVAL
To benefit the victims of the Carriage House Fire

In addition to the booths for food and shopping, there are a number of carnival games and other activities. Everything begins early in the morning and will last until sunset.

Mark didn't have any apples but as always, he had a few maple sugar cubes in his pocket.

"How are you doing old man?" He muttered as he offered one up on an upturned palm.

Old Man makes a pleased noise after sniffing what Mark is offering and eats them out of his hand.

He's doing quite well thanks for asking.

Greatheart was there as well, his mane tied up in bits of ribbon and his tack polished until it shone.

He wouldn't have minded an apple either, although Beauty was keeping an eye out to make sure he wasn't getting too many treats.

[ooc: Feel free to mod getting a ride on Greatheart, up and down one of the side streets. I will try and answer pings as I have time, if you want to talk to Beauty directly.]

Mark had a sugar cube for Greatheart as well.

You never know when you are going to need to bribe a horse.

House was sitting on a stool at the front of the booth. He gestured back at the five coconuts sitting in cups with his cane.

"The idea is simple," began his routine. "Throw a wooden ball at the coconut, knock it out of the cup, win a coconut. Try your luck, try your luck. One throw for fifty cents, three for a dollar. Who doesn't want to go home with a lovely bunch of coconuts?"

The kicker was, of course, that you'd have to throw the ball really hard and hit the coconut just right, because the balls weren't exactly the heaviest things. That was just how the game was rigged.

In between her stint at the pony rides and seeing the festival with Faith, Beauty dropped by the coconut booth. Eying the setup, and listening to House's spiel, she crossed her arms in front of her and looked skeptical.

"Why would I want to win a coconut?"

"Apples are nutritious and delicious," Beauty countered. "Coconuts look...hard."

She picked one up and looked dubiously at it.

Beauty shot him a look. "I can see that. But I'm still not sure why I would want to win one. It seems like a lot of work to get to the edible part."

She set it back in place, however, and put her money down on the booth.

It was actually House's money, after all.

"The idea is to show off how you can do it," House said. "Or really, to throw a lot of money in to trying to help pay for the new school dorm."

"I don't have a lot of money," Beauty pointed out, with a small grin. "But I don't mind trying to play the game. I just...throw the ball at the coconut?"

It couldn't possibly be that easy. There had to be a trick to it.
