And I am very wet, gentle reader.
I got some extra work this week at Coalition for Kids. I became an official envelope stuffer. I labled and stuffed evelopes for 11 hours this week, ensuring that I won't have to dig into my savings for another week! Whoo-hoo!! And, I got to know some of the other staff, which was very nice, and some good conversation was had around the table while we were stuffing. It's always refreshing to spend some time with new people, and to have adult conversation. I love adult conversation. :)
It was also an exciting week at school. One of our students who primarily used a walker, scooted around on the floor or held an adults hand to walk is now taking some tentative steps on her own. She still wants someone behind her to catch her when she falls, as she is very wobbly, but it's still cool to watch her grow. Mom says she walks on her own at home, but at school there are so many hazards (abandoned puzzle land mines, other children, desks, chairs, etc) she's been a little more timid about walking on her own.
Also, one of my students told me that Sunday was Easter, and at his church you should dress up, so he's going to be a vampire. I thought it was a pretty good idea, since Christ rose from the dead and there was a lot of blood involved... but the people at his church might not think along the same lines as I do.
Now, not only did all this exicitement go down, but also I made a discovery. When Tim and I came home on Wednesday night, we found that the electricity was out in the whole neighborhood. So, we went to crack open a window in the stuffy house only to find that they were not locked. In fact, the locks were seperated by about a 1/2 inch. Upon further investigation, we found the windows at the top were open a 1/2 inch, and convienetly covered by the blinds.TIt seems the painters, who came last August to paint all of the outside windows in my condo complex, left all of the upstairs windows cracked at the top. Whoops. That explains my unusually high electric bills for the past few months... thanks, painters.
In about 20 minutes, I need to head out. Tim and I are going back to Indiana for the weekend... but it doesn't stop there. We're coming back on Monday because I have a job interview!! It's for a part time position with the state for an Early Invtervention Specialist. Frankly, I'm not sure what the position entails, but I know that it is flexible and pays extremely well. I'll find out more details as soon as I can, esp. if I get the job.
Also, there's a teacher career fair on Tuesday which I will be crashing. It's for ETSU students, but I'm going to try to sneak in and pass out some resumes. The spring rush is on- in my school system, 10 new positions that I qualify for were posted yeseterday- and I'm hoping that there's something out there for me!
