I've been LJ slacking...
Tomorrow is my last day of vacation. That's right, I took a 3.5 week vacation. I know everybody hears nonprofit and thinks "low salary," but not everybody realizes that nonprofits tend to make up for their salaries with great benefits. And there's your employment point to ponder for the day.
This vacation has been quite nice, and definitely relaxing. I spent ten days at home with the family, then flew back to MN and spent a week with Jared, including a very fun New Year's with his family (minus Jolex). For the last few days of his visit, Amy joined us and she got to know him a little better (she'd only met him briefly once before we were dating). We all also popped over to Ugaso's house so he could meet all of them, so now he's met both my immediate families. Not surprisingly, they all approve. :) Jared left and I had a few more days with Amy, which included our annual MOA excursion and an absurd amount of cribbage. Then she left and I had some time to myself, which I've used to clean, read, return to the gym, and putz around on the computer. The first 24 hours or so after both Amy and Jared were gone were actually pretty terrible, but I got back on track and have been enjoying my down time.
Little things of particular note at this moment:
- Chani might have eaten a twist-tie Saturday evening, but I have no evidence that she definitely did, or that it passed, or that it's causing any trouble.
- I went to weight lifting class yesterday for the first time in months, and I'm sore to the point that walking is difficult. And it's awesome!
- I started reading The Jungle Books and was pleasantly surprised by how engaging the stories are.

- Dating Jared has been and continues to be wonderful :)
