Since
Bunny-chan wrote me the cutest love post ever I decided i twas time for me to write my post on Maru. Well…Nakamaru Yuichi that is~ Since I can’t make a very good love post…I’ll do a Maru one. Is it okay Bunny~chan? I promise I’ll say nice stuff about him! I just need to remember who Maru is first. I know he’s supposed to be in KT but it is so hard to actually remember who he is in the band…naaa~I’m just kidding of course!
So as I already wrote on my post about Kame I started listening to KAT-TUN because of…well Kame. And I liked it! And decided to watch a concert to listen to the music more and really get to grasp their artistic depth…^^”….. Okay so I decided to watch a concert because they’re hot and I wanted more hotness since I’m just a weak -a bit perverted- fangirl. At first everything seemed fine. Well actually no, at first there was Koki and the Hat with a capital H which really scared me. But after the Hat every seemed fine and the concert went okay…. Until….Maru’s solo. And that was the end before the beginning cause I’m sorry but the guy who chose Maru’s clothes is a Maru’s hater or has a very weird sense of humour. I couldn’t hear the song at all, I was way too focused on how horrible the clothes looked to actually listen. Thank God they sang One on One after that! This is when I realized Maru has a very nice singing voice actually. But I was very disappointed to see that he was completely under-used.

Well I was disappointed but not depressed, I wasn’t that much of a Maru fan….but still…and this one of the good aspects of Jin leaving (cause yes there are some) we can actually hear Maru now! And see him too! In the last PV he was actually quite good-looking. Actually he was visible which already was a change, especially for me. Maru used to get almost none of the spotlight and he never tried to steal it. In a way that made him a nice guy … but a nice unnoticeable guy ... I liked his singing voice and his beatbox kept improving but I still didn’t really see him. He’s not the idol type at all and also …well you know…there’s Kame just next to him *o* and Kame’s like …perfect….Kame can do everything well, he’s the ultimate being, he’s…okay so back to Maru >.<
As an idol I’m sorry to say that Maru doesn’t quite live up to the role. As a singer he’s good but doesn’t have enough chances to show he is. However he does now and I think he’s become KT’s best singer just behind Kame (It’s got nothing to do with Maru, it’s just that Kame does everything better than everyone else…).
Recently I also got the chance to discover Maru as an actor. Well actually no, I discovered him as an actor a long time ago with Sushi Oji … in which he was okay but not that good and anyway I was too focused on Domoto Koichi to see anything else. Then came the movie that was….oh my god, so funny! There was a very sad scene in the middle of it but otherwise it was just so badly done it must be one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. And so I loved it! Though Maru’s acting skills had improved by a bit he didn’t impress me that much because basically no one did. Sushi Oji isn’t the kind of movie to prove yourself as an actor I’m afraid. Still I discovered in that movie that Maru can talk to plants *o* Which didn’t surprised me that much actually, they both are part of the settings so obviously they have nothing better to do than chat. Okay that was mean and more wrong than ever but I just couldn’t help myself ^^’ (Sorry Bunny-chan! T.T)
More recently though I watched RESCUE and that was purely for Maru…okay and the music >.< but they cut Jin off in the ending T.T Was that some kind of premonition? I don’t know but it s*cked. I was so sad every time I felt like crying and hanging myself. Okay maybe not but still I wasn”t happy since Jin’s “call my name” was my favourite part of the song. Plus Jin’s as hot as anyone -except Kame- can get -since Kame can get even hotter cause he’s Kame. Please note than Jin’s hotness, though obvious and undeniably enjoyable, has nothing to do with Maru’s acting. Which was fine by the way…most of the time. The crying scene kinda made me laugh but otherwise Mary was fine and likeable. Still Massu was nicer I think and I was kinda watching Yusuke all the time, anticipating anxiously the moment when he would have something remotely looking like feelings.
I’m still not a Maru fan as you probably guessed but I still think he’s nice (loved his solo in the Real Face and love the new solo by the way, I can’t wait to see him sing that live!) and I’m glad he’s finnally getting some attention. I wish him all the best, please Maru-chan, surprise me, ne? ~
You are very welcome ^o^
