OMG I MUST'VE MISSED THIS ENTRY!! SO SORRY!! *fail*

that song is so much love! I love it! *____* thank you so much for the translations mikyu!! I would love to share this to my other friends who has been with me to campaign against things if you don't mind. And thank you for remembering that i love photos haha indeed i do. The photos of your country and cats are so pretty!!!!!! ♥ you must look at my latest picture spam entry ^___^ it's filled with beautiful scenery shots that i've taken whilst i attended the international environmental conference last week. I wrote a long rant on that too =p

i do agree with you about most countries now finally realising the seriousness of the environmental problems that we're facing. It's good that they've signed the contract but the problem would always be to ratify it, they might've signed it but that doesn't guarantee that they would act upon it, this is actually the case for most of the countries till now. It's rather obvious to me that no one wants to be the first to do something. The biggest problem right now is the developing countries, we as a developed country have no right to stop their development but i think they're not trying hard enough to find a compromise, attending that conference actually made me realise how useless the government can be.

in the case of your country, it's more because a majority of the population realises the impact that we're having on the world but for many other poor countries, they're not willing to sacrifice what they've been taken for granted. I think it's really sad because their line of thoughts goes along the lines of "why must i pay for something that has not yet or is not affecting me directly?" but as we all can see now, it is indeed affecting them. Like what you said, i too believe that everything is interconnected. A

and about oil, i know this because my family has connections *shh* but it's not exactly that we're running out of oil like what everyone thinks. But of course we're running out but the case is not as severe, it's all due to politics really =/ HK is considering putting a charge for plastic bags btw, which i think is a good first step but we still have a long way to go!!

i'm glad that our discussion helped in your TOEFL haha =D and ghibli the classics is soooooo good right??! It's the kind that can make you relax~~

of course you can share the song (and translation) with your friends ^ ^

wow those pictures are so pretty, compared to those pics mine are so lame >.<. those clouds are so cool and the lake (or sea?) makes it much more beautiful.
I haven't read everything about the IEC ... actually only the last part about the pp presentations ^^, those presentations can be really annoying because people tend to put too much text on one layer.

I think it's already a lot if it comes to ratification. How many discussions did the governments need until they finally came to a conclusion in the Kyoto protocol? And it's not really a good result for the environment, the origin purpose has been changed to satisfy USA >.<
have you heard about the abruption of the WTO conference? ok, it has nothing to do with the environment, but it's another example that the whole thing was for nothing. Or the scandal about the constitution of EU? because Ireland citizen said no to it, the whole thing can't be ratified. How long does the EU already exist? and they still have no constitution. The purpose of the EU just doesn't work ... there is always one country that doesn't agree. however, in smaller problems they actually can do something like the prohibition of some products or new laws of animal rights ^^”
yeah the developing countries ... I don't understand them, it's for their own profit. I think the environmental disaster will continue to increase and they will also be affected.

at the moment we have a discussion about road pricing ... well actually it's not a big discussion but a option because of the traffic problems. But the people don't see that the problems affect them (yet). However, it is expected that the problems will increase and that road pricing will be one of the option to solve it. The problem is that if we want to adopt it we have to change the national law and that means a national voting. I can already see the political parties are going to start a huge stupid discussion about advantages and disadvantages. I'm not really proud about the politic in Switzerland at the moment ... it's like a big kindergarten.

I already thought about it that we won't really run out of oil, at least not in the near future. However, I think one day the “promised” day will come ^^” maybe I won't experience that day but we should do something (like not waste it) and don't let our kids to deal with it.
The politics take a big part in oil trade, I mean China support Sudan because they obtain oil from them. Even if it's about genocide. The same goes for the security council ... the council is so useless, when did the council ever decided something? when will that day come that USA, France, Russia and China have the same opinion?
HK is considering to put a charge on plastic bags? but I thought China already decided to put a charge?

I hear the ghibli CD often when I try to sleep, and it's quite useful when you sleep in youth hostels or in the train ^^
