I survived my baby's first birthday football extravaganza.
We started the weekend off with his fist haircut on Friday. I took him to my hair salon where he sat very nicely and let my stylist chop a good 4 inches of " she is soooo pretty!" off.
I was worried about the 60 yes RSVPs we received but we had a number of cancellations at the last minute. We still had quite a large turn out and Malcolm had a fantastic time.
There was football paraphenalia EVERYWHERE. At this moment Mal is watching the Super bowl with his DADA. If I didn't have $40 into two pools I'd sleep through it . *lol*
We had tailgating food and somehow I ended up with enough leftover mini turkey and beef burgers, sweet and white fries, a nacho fixings to sponsor a super bowl party for my block. The caterer did a great job as usual. TOO great even. At the end of the nice I still had 4 full size pans in both ovens. I bagged and gave a good portion of it away. I guess I will be doing an anonymous lunchroom drop off tomorrow at work.
I baked Mal's smash cake ( which never really got smashed)
and Webdiva ( aka cakediva) made his actual party cake.
She also did this church hat cake for my Grandma who shares Mal's birthdate. Everyone RAVED about the red velvet hat cake.
The kids had a blast from what I can tell.
I shaved a couple of years off of my life trying to get a group shot of Mal's baby gang.
I have to agree with Jason : " It WAS like trying to herd cats"
Look closely at the faces of the kids. They look how I felt. *lol*
My body aches and Im exhausted but it was all well worth the memories.
I swear me AND my muffin top are going to the gym tomorrow. *ugh*
