Post Holiday 2007

I managed to survive Christmas and New years and even managed to make it back up to NY this past weekend for BIL's surprise birthday party. I have been extremely blessed this year and last and J and I took some time recently to reflect on the last couple years and how wonderful our life has come to be. I especially wanted to point out how whenever we've managed to get ourselves into a bind- be it with unsold houses, terrible job situations, TTC, lost loveones etc... God has always seen fit to not only get us through unscathed but positioned even better than where we started.
I have a beautiful son , a kind and loving husband ,a home that is still has interior design in the works *lol* but mine nonetheless and a job that is EFFING PHENOMINAL!!!
So I got a HUGE bonus at the end of the year and yesterday I got a HUGE raise. Unbelievable!

Especially since I was sweating a little after buying my new toy last saturday:

No more squeezing the boy and all his STUFF into my TL. J is now the proud owner of a used Acura *lol* I was nice enough to get it detailed for him.  A little wax  and leather cleaner made the 04 look like a spanking new '08. *lol*

Anyhoo I think Im in love! Motor trend's Truck of the year drives like a dream and has everything I wanted in a family car.

I have one house project Im currently working on in the mud room/dog's room. We have to do SOMETHING about our postal mail situation. The mail just PILES up on the shelf in our foyer until someone can devote an hour to sort through all the catalogues and bills and junk that we get.  So I've commited to setting up an organization center in our mudroom. Its the room that exits to the garage and currently houses 1 large and 1 small kennel for the dogs. Theres quite a few scuffs and muddy paw prints on the builders white flat paint so its due for a nice coat of paint anyway.
I wanted to first paint a layer of magnatized paint then cover it with chalk board paint.  So I can use magnets and write messages and notes to be viewed on the way in or out of the house since we're often missing each other.
I need to find a wall mountable mail sorter, and key rack.
Ill come back to post before and after shots.
I need to get this completed before "Malcolm's first birthday extravaganza " *lol*

I just sent out Invitations to 85 of our nearest and dearest *sigh* This party is SO far out of control it's ridiculous but Im happy with how the invites turned out. I had them printed on a pearlized stock.

Its a tri-fold 15x5

It's a football theme party since baby boy's birthday falls on superbowl weekend.
We've been singing happy birthday to him and he seems to be getting the hang of it.
We're starting to cut his formula with whole milk tomorrow. Im interested to see how that goes.
The count down is on to his first haircut. I'm taking him to my salon the day before his birthday.
I can't believe his first year is almost done!
Time is flying.

We might have to do this again *lol*
