This is - not a request fic, exactly, since I couldn't get her to actually GIVE me a request, but a reward fic for elict, in return for this awesome pic from 'Permission to Touch'. I have no idea if it's what she'd have wanted, but it was what decided to be written. I don't argue with the muses if I can avoid it. *sweatdrops

Damn, that was really hard to read through. Principally in the end...

And the person who told you about Cloud's voice being Mini-Cloud was probably me. I remember reading about it in a translation of the Ultimania Omega FAQs and mentioning it a few times out there. It makes sense to me; the accident in the bridge practically shaped Cloud's whole life, so the impression of himself from that time was probably very resilient.

It was you, actually. ^_^ It does make sense to me as well, it's just that I spent so long believing it was Zack that it's really influenced my view of those events. And this story was based on that, so I couldn't exactly make it Cloud's own voice. *grins*

Emotionally. XD; It's just that Cloud having gone crazy, believing he's a SOLDIER, is one of the hardest things to take in the game for me. It just hurts in a way I can't explain.

Which is why I like fics that involve him before he snaps at Zack's death and after the Mideel scene better.

Er, the last part reads badly. O_o; I usually prefer to read those types of fics because..... um, I can't explain. I guess the whole Cloud-cracking thing creeps me out too much, despite being part of why I love him. O_o

Oh, this fic was so sweet. And those lyrics fit utterly perfectly for what you were writing. I'm really intrigued about this song now-- any chance of you uploading it and putting a link in the fic for those of us who haven't heard it?

Other than that, I have to agree with you. I always thought it was Zack's voice speaking to Cloud in his head too~ Glad to see I'm not alone in that idea!

It's a gorgeous song, as well as having wonderful lyrics for Zack/Cloud, I highly recommend it if you can find it anywhere.
