I generally hate winter. I hate the dark the most, snow second (because I have to shovel it). What I especially hate, though, is when the wind comes right after a "dry" snow. I shoveled off our front deck yesterday, and not only did the wind blow it right back, but now it's all hard and crusty. I just hope our tiny snowblower can cut through it ( Read more... )

Fairyland is getting ready to launch their new BJD, the Chic Line, which is a mature 40cm doll. And I have a bad case of grabby hands for Ruo (boy) and Dark Soo (girl). We had a "spring" meetup yesterday here in Anchorage.  Unfortunately, spring here means there is still a couple of feet of snow on the ground, so it was mostly inside.

Well, sort of winter.  After our deep freeze of 1-2 weeks ago, two back-to-back "Pineapple Expresses" rolled in.  As you can kind of see from the pics, most of the snow (which had been nearly 3 feet deep) has melted off our front yard, and the remainder of snow off our front deck.

Just a few quick random pictures of new stuff at my house.  First is an original piece by a local Alaska artist.  Most of his stuff look like weird, alien landscapes, which I find really cool.  I was especially drawn to this one, since it looks like some kind of alien discoteque.
