So last December I had LASIK.  My right eye turned out great.  My left...? Not so much. I haven't really been able to see out of my left eye for over nine months.  Last Friday, after work, I had a corrective procedure done to improve the vision in my left eye.

I didn't know it at the time, but I was wearing a patch all day on "Talk like a pirate" day, last Saturday.

At this point, it is uncertain how much better my vision is going to get. But so far the results have been disappointing.  I still have a "cheesecloth" effect over my entire eye, although I did stave off an infection and the irritation is mostly gone at this point. Mostly. I'm on two types of steroids and three types of antibiotic drops.  It was pretty bad for a couple of days.  Ugh.

In other news, there's a bit of travel coming up. I'll be in Austin in a couple of weeks for Austin City Limits.  Looks like I will have to go to New York City for work at some point in late October or early November; I'll be visiting Minneapolis and family for Thanksgiving, and going to Palm Springs the day after Christmas for a suprise 80th birthday for John's Aunt Cece.

Dusty's birthday brunch

John and I took Dusty out for his birthday last weekend.  I was like "look super artsy fartsy! I'm gonna make this photo black and white!"  He did not disappoint.

And finally, I just like taking pictures of flowers, because they are pretty.
