It’s sad that the people who go out trying to save the world by helping one person at a time will never realize that they are in fact the ones who need the most help

It's all well and good to be honest and open with others in a relationship but if you've done it in the past and it didn't get through to them and they've told you over and over to leave them alone and you still don't, that's not being a good friend, it's being a pain in the ass. It's being obnoxious. Do we really need someone reminding us if we're fucking up? No. Guess what. The people who are fucking up their lives, most of them know it but just don't want to admit it. We're all grown ups here. I don't need a fucking babysitter. Most importantly, if I'm fucking up my life, that's my problem, not yours or anyone elses. If you choose to make it your problem, well, that's your choice. I could care less. I don't need anyone telling me what I'm doing wrong or that I need to fix anything. I know what I'm doing. If I think it needs to be fixed it will be. But it will change for me, not for you or anyone else.
I never asked you if you had the "die with pride" philosophy. Not many people do. That's up to them. Nothing is good to you when you're dead. It's what it means to you when you're alive and if you die in that act, then so be it. Not too many people have the balls to "die with pride". Most people are fucking cowards. Whatever you are, be a good one. I could really care less if you die smiling, with pride, or crying like a little bitch. It's up to you. I'm not gonna knock either way. It's your life.
Ya know, it's funny. Life IS a gift. It's a gift for me, it's a gift for you. My life is my gift. Your life is yours. It's mine to do with what I want. Just as yours. Next Xmas or birthday when you get something you've always wanted, and someone is hanging over your neck telling you how to use it and what you should do with it, then come back and have this same fucking arguement with me. You don't want anyone tellin you what to do with your life anymore than I do.
Noone likes to see others in pain. I hate it. I can't stand it. Why do you think I became a comedian? I can make people laugh. I can make them smile and forget about their problems. I can't change them. I can't fix them. I can only be a distraction. It's up to them to make themselves happy. The things people tell me about my life, I don't listen to because I don't care what others think. Whatever they're telling me is just a temporary distraction. I'll sit and listen to make them happy and then go back and do what I want.
You'd think, you're best friend, whom you've known for some odd years, who claims to know you better than you know yourself would finally realize after so many fights and years, that it's a waste of time.
Tons of my friends are self destructive. I've seen them in the worst possible ways you can see someone. I let them know I don't agree with what they are doing but I can't force them to stop. It's up to them.
How many people did you try and stop from going to Iraq to fight for your country, knowing they could die in the process? How many times have you been in a car with a friend who was driving too fast and you pleaded with them to slow down? How many times have you written a congressman or Senator and told them you didn't like what was going on in your town or state and things needed to be fixed?
Don't pick your battles. If people are gonna give me shit about something they better make sure they're doin it to everyone.
You smoke right? How many times have people told you you need to quit because you can die? How many times have you read on the side of your cigarette pack that it causes cancer and you could die? Ya still smoke don't you? That's what I thought.
Sitting back and watching someone die isn't fun...but sometimes, that's all we can do. The sooner we realize that, the better.
Right now, as I prepare to go out and party, there's a kid the same age as us, dying on a battlefield in Iraq. He's dying because of the life he chose to live. Did you try to stop him?
